Big opportunity here. 4FTs and the ball.

love how we do the same thing over and over and it never works and then we keep doing it more the whole game

Absolutely and Oats just doesnt make good adjustments. The fricking insistence on tight on ball defense out high is infuriating. We press the ball handler high every damn time to push tempo and all we do is give up the lane drive over and over. So, then our unathletic big comes to help which isnt effective and creates a rebounding issue. We can play man and push tempo but alter it to be in proper help position to prevent the drive and rebound better.

The issue is all four of our post players are soft as charmin tissue. Our guards have to play out of their minds every game because of this. Bowen and Sherrell have to stiffen up in the low post. We also don’t have bigs who can play above the rim and catch alley oops. That would open up our offense so much more.

I swear Sherrell goes away from the basket when a shot goes up... wtf is his rebounding strategy? Or our coaching strategy

Incredible that this is a 1 point game after all that. Texas has got to feel awful about this.

Much better energy to finish the half. Gonna need a whole half of that starting on the defensive end and rebounding

Good to see Holloway execute the 1 shot (even if he almost lost it). Hope Allen took notes. Weathered the storm after Texas coach clearly got his team fired up for this one, but need to play a clean 2nd half and better defense. Some of their shots were “fortunate” and won’t fall in the 2nd

I don’t understand how we play down to average conference opponents every year. Texas is not a good team and will end up on the bubble at best.

Sometimes we look so ordinary it’s exasperating. We also do not have proven scorers apart from Holloway and Philon. We were counting on Wrightsell and Mallette but they are too sporadic and Wrightsell has serious injury problems.
