I'm in Toney and we've lost power twice. I hate this. Luckily we're warm.

The last 15 minute break we had apparently killed my mom’s furnace. We’re all huddled around an electric heater now. The HVAC repair gene was not passed on to me.

You guys are having power outages? Holy shite. I've got my thermostat set to 85 and fireplace blazing yet I'm still freezing. How the hell are you guys surviving?

Yeah. Looks like a space heater kinda weekend now.

Which is counter productive to what TVA was asking everyone to do.

Blackouts are horse shite. They have the power. TVA is federal, liberal, and flexing their muscle trying to get people to think of climate issues. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

I’m fairly certain it’s the blower motor. I think we have a bad bearing. I’m no expert though. No parts stores are open. We have a guy hopefully setup to show on Monday.

We have an adequate amount of space heaters to get us through the weekend.

Yeah, that definitely puts a damper on fixing things. I once had my well pump stolen on a Christmas eve, that was a Friday. Long, smelly weekend before I was able to get a new one. It was a wearing shorts Christmas in Florida that year.

it's amazing how we the people handed total authority over to the government. with the flip of switches they can shut our lives down. electricity, water and communications all go away with the flip of a switch, by them.

Duke Energy here in NC sent out a message this morning they were doing rolling blackouts across the state. For 15 minutes at a time to help keep up with demand and protect this system. Of course ours went out this morning for a few hours along with 15k+ in our area due to system failure.

Last night on my ridge it hit -2f. The coldest I have seen it since moving from the mountains here.

Merry Christmas to all.
