This won’t be close we’ve already given up 21 sacks plus so that contest is over

Every single aspect of the offense is a problem. Players and coaches.
A good, athletic, high football IQ quarterback can mask a lot of deficiencies.(see Bryce Young)
We absolutely currently do not have that. Being fast does not make you athletic and I have seen JV QBs with a higher football IQ than what we currently have. I do not blame Jalen for his extensive list of shortcomings. The person whoever is in charge of the final decision as to who plays QB is to blame. And whoever is in charge of the roster to make sure we did not have such a massive drop off in talent at QB is to blame. Whoever is in charge of player development is to blame. Whoever is in charge of instilling discipline and playing with class and having the mindset of a champion is to blame.

Because no one else has, I’ll say it. Thank you man. That was a brilliant break down of each position group. There are people that claim to know football, people who know some ball and can speak the language, and then there are guys that know the intricacies. You are the latter. Well done sir!

It could be a whollllle lot worse than Milroe dude. Bryce Youngs, Tuas, Mac Joneses-they don't grow on trees, and we happened to have all of them in consecutive years.
He's done a pretty damn good job so far considering his limitations, and considering that there are a whole lot of Bama fans that think that he is absolute garbage and that wed have zero chance at winning a damn thing with him at QB. Well, we are leading the SEC west, and basically have two more games to win to all but stamp our ticket the SECG.
Idk, Milroe is who he is, but as long as we are winning games, I'm good. And we've been winning games.

Milroe is better than Hurts at the same point in their careers, and probably as good as Hurts pre-transfer.

Agree. Alabama has played 7 games now. Several against good teams. At some point he has to stop looking like a freshman in his first or second game.
It’s not his fault we keep running him out there when he needs to be playing RG.
It’s our fault that we didn’t have anyone else for the 2nd time in 3 years. What was done to Chris Owens was completely unfair and the same thing is happening to a young LT who needs time in the S&C program to work on his lateral quickness / strength and some time to understand the mental aspects of the game.
He would also be in a very different spot if he had a QB who understood how to help a young LT by adjusting protection calls, stepping up instead of into a speed rush and how to get the ball out on time.

From a QBR and efficiency standpoint he’s light years ahead.
He’s just not as effective as a runner right now.

You're probably right about Proctor but who does Bama put in his spot? Pritchett? Lord have mercy, he's been horrendous. I just cannot believe Bama has recruited all these 4-5 star recruits at OT and not one of them is serviceable (other than Latham),
It's gotta be the coaching (O line coaching).
Milroe is (right now) is probably the best we have, as bad as that is. I think Simpson COULD be better but from what all I've heard/read, his confidence is shot and he's so paranoid about making a mistake and then when he does make a mistake, he takes unwise throws trying to make up for his previous mistakes and makes an even bigger mistake.

I want to add (only semi related here) that Milroe will most likely be the starter for another two years because CNS is ferociously loyal to junior and senior starters, even if a younger player is better. That's not to say it NEVER happens but rarely will Saint Nick replace a junior or senior starter with game experience.
Some might say that Milroe will leave early for the NFL after next season. Please. Unless he has some incredible metamorphosis and develops into a consistent QB, I don't see him being drafted by anyone.

Twisted is a long time treasure in here. We all appreciate him. Trust me he isn’t forgotten in his write ups and contributions.

There is no class in college football anymore and that includes Alabama. It is not taught anymore.
“People who are in it for their own good are individualists. They don’t share the same heartbeat that makes a team so great. A great unit, whether it be football or any organization, shares the same heartbeat.” Coach Bryant

I think we went 3 plus years with minimal talent identification and development happening at OL and we are reaping the consequences now.
How many guys look significantly better now than they did two years ago?
Once it was clear Proctor didn’t have the speed to handle edge guys against Texas im surprised we didn’t go:
Latham
Proctor
Seth
Ferguson
Booker
I suspect they didn’t want to do a mid season overhaul so we will just have to deal with Proctor with TE help.

We need a new OL Coach. If Pittman gets canned by Arkansas I hope Saban is on the phone with him right away

So another change at OL coach and just start all over. Because that’s what you’re asking for. Wolford is only in year two and still overcoming some bad evaluations by Flood and especially Marrone. This can’t be the answer every time it doesn’t go well. Because you’ll never have development doing that.
In a perfect world Tommy Brockermeyer lived up to his hype and is the LT right now. Not Proctor that needs to get in shape and develop.

Their AD seems firmly behind him, but in a serious way and not the dreaded "vote of confidence". That could change if they keep losing and he loses the locker room, but for now they are still playing hard for him. After their experiences with John L, Bert, and Morris I think they are probably going to give him a bit of leeway as long as they stay competitive even in losses.
What Saban needs to do is call Stoutland, offer to double whatever the Eagles are paying him, and put a clause in his contract that says he doesn't have to recruit off campus.

Pittman won’t coach again after Arkansas. Wether that’s this year or five years from now. He will retire to Hot Springs.

Our speedy Qb, whose suppposed best asset is his running, got us -19 yards yesterday with a long run of 7.
I take it that Milroe, whether by the coaches or on his own, is trying not to rely on his legs. He’s trying to become a better passer. That’s good. However, there are times where the pressure is on and there is no one open that he needs to just go. He is trying to be a little too much like Bryce and continue to look down the field when he scrambles. As was said above, he doesn’t use his running ability decisively. He doesn’t have that instinct that tells him that the chances of successfully passing the ball are gone so he needs to run.

Anthony Richardson's career stats for college: 54.7% completions 24 TDs to 15 INTs. Sometimes NFL teams just fall in love with freak athletes.

Two big differences between the current OL coach and Stoutland. Both center on the type of OL personnel they prefer.
Wolford is best at Outside Zone. His history at "lesser schools" made him choose heavy beef rather than more athletic linemen. Big, fit, strong, quick, and smart - not alot of those to go around and certainly not for the second tier schools. His heavy weight OL does well at outside zone. They tend to be a little less effective at inside zone. They are not well suited for Pin & Pull.
Stoutland like OL that can pull and run. Agroup that blocks well in space. A group with good lateral mobility and quickness. Sounds like all of the things ths years OL does not have. A group that would do well at outside zone, inside zone, pin & pull, duo, screen blocking, edge running game.
