I thought getting stuck with Milroe another year was bad things got significantly worse.

This doesn’t make a lot of sense. Why would Ty Simpson decide to come back if Saban is leaving?

Why he leave just because Saban is retiring?

Because Ty Simpson fits Lannings offense

Jalen will have an uphill battle depending on what the new coach runs

Buddy of mine just sent me a text saying it's Dan Lanning.

I said this the last time Lanning was brought up. Why would he be preferred over DeBoer?

I kind of get Harsin-y vibes from DeBoer.

There’s a lot of unknown, an established starting QB, and he could easily go to a P5 and be essentially a guaranteed starter.

Kiffin would not say no.

Lanning is not remotely worthy.

Lanning has spent most of his coaching career in the South. DeBoer has never coached in this part of the country. Could work out fine or could be a better version of Harsin.

Harsin did worse than his predecessor. DeBoer's predecessor went 4-8 and DeBoer got them to the NCG in his second year.

Whoever follows Saban is going to make a lot of money but this fanbase is going to eat him alive.

I was more referring to DeBoer not having any ties to the southeast, not "getting" the culture, and not being able to recruit up to snuff.

All of that is pure conjecture, that is just the vibe I get.

Lanning has recruited in the south. Deboer has been based out of the North central / North west his entire career, unless I'm missing something.

I can see that. But I also think recruiting is a more national game now. I don't know. Obviously no one you'll get can replace Saban.

I’m kinda still in shock…a sick feeling.
Didn’t think he’d go out this year… wondering if it’s health related.

At least he goes out on his own terms and not some scandal or losing seasons. The program is in great shape.

Health issue

Got to be.

God Bless him. I don't think he would give it up if it wasn't about health.
