From sec main page..

quote:

Saban: "We used to play better on the road around here than what we played at home because we had some hateful competitors on our team and when they played on the road, they were mad at 100,000 people, not just the 11 they were playing against."

He's the coach and players take on their coaches personality so maybe he needs to find that fire or hire some coordinators which can project that onto the players.

IMO when you dominate your rivalries for so many years-I think that the rivalry vitriol can wear off in a sense.

Rivalries in general aren't near as intense, or hate-fueled as they once were.

I’d like to see you manage the egos and personalities of these kids coming up now.

Other then last year's 49-9 win over Miss St, road games have been a struggle the last two seasons.

Florida 31-29 W
Texas A&M 38-41 L
Miss St 49-9 W
Auburn 24-22 W
Texas 20-19 W

Bama used to destroy teams not named Auburn on the road.

We haven't really been making any asses quit of late... even while usually winning.

You gotta find something positive to focus on!...How about taking the dog and the points on every road game?

As a player you should be bringing that yourself.

I can't, never said I could.

When I played college ball we had shorter leashes. In the league it was a one-mistake you cab get released environment. So I'm use to more aggressive approach and no remove for error.

That would never work now. I simply don't have the patience to babysit grown men.

This. If Bama had the horse to "shock and awe" these guys right out of the gate say like 2020 and back then they wouldn't gain confidence to stay in the game. Bama keeps these teams in the game and has to battle the crowds because they aren't good enough to put them away.

So for example, Bama forces Texas in a series of three and outs and goes up 10-0 or 17-0, it's over with. But instead they couldn't get pressure on Ewers and his receivers were getting open.

Can we at least acknowledge that the 2020 team never had to play any true SEC away games?

Not sure about that, but there certainly isn't the same caliber of dudes wearing headsets and calling plays on the sidelines.

Sark could have schemed and written up a better game plan on some wet cocktail napkins or Kiffin with a sharpie and a co-eds backside.

The management of the team is softer. Everything has gotten softer. Not sure what the balance is with keeping guys happy and busting their asses at the same time. Goes for coaches as well.

So basically all of you are saying that Bama is done with make that arse quit football this year. Whether it’s the players or the coaches, this group can’t do it?? Can it still be done? Is Kirby doing it?

It can definitely be done because Georgia is doing it using Alabama's blueprint from the past.
