Saban won’t say the real reason to the media because he doesn’t want to hurt Dalcourt’s confidence. Every center we’ve had before him was one of the smartest players on the field and they knew not only their assignment but every other linesman’s assignment on every play. So, when the QB would make an audible those guys were screaming at the other lineman to get them set and in the right assignment. They also had the ability to call audibles just for the line. We need a smarter center.
