IIRC there was reporting that he wanted either the Washington HC job or the Seahawks OC job because his family liked Seattle and he didn't want to move. Our fans are the ones who took that and turned it into his wife being a radical BLM communist who hates Real America
Exactly.
The man wanted an NFL coordinator job or the head job at his university.
In a year or two when Washington or other schools come knocking; if he accepts the job the same mouthbreathing imbeciles will take that and make it about his wife and attack her again.

Seahawks Qb coach just made a lateral move to the Jets.

Here's a couple of Q&A's with Geno Smith. He was excited about going into the second season with Grubb.

His reasons don't matter to me, because they're speculative. But the facts do and the facts are, Saban has publicly said he tried to hire Grubb MULTIPLE times while he was at Alabama and was turned down every time. When CKD got the Bama job Grubb he wasn't here a week and bolted for the Seattle job.
That pattern of behavior concerns me from a stability standpoint because CKD desperately needs BOTH quality and stability at the coordinator position to get this train back on the tracks of competing for championships. The fact is Grubb (for reasons that don't matter) has chosen not to come to Alabama at least three times but now he's been fired and is willing to come. I've been in management and hiring for over 25 years and hiring an employee with that pattern of behavior toward your company is taking a risk. We'll see...

Understandable. But coaching in any sport pro or college I could see a position coach having several different coaching stints in their lifetime. Doesn’t mean they’re unstable, it’s just the nature of the profession.

Yes, coaching in general there is a lot of moving around. However, in this situation he's turned down Alabama at least three times (maybe more) between Saban and DeBoer. That just gives off a perception of there something about Alabama that he didn't want any part of...we'll see.

I get what your saying but you are assuming it was something about alabama he didnt wanna do which may or may not be true.
he turned down Saban to stay with a coach he has been with for a LONG TIME. Was familiar with him and had much more control over what the offence looked like vs something brand new, a coach that can be hard to work for, and an offence that he wouldnt have near as much say with.
combine that to the option to go be a OC in the NFL in a city his family lived in already vs again taking over a new school after a legend. I dont fault or blame him one bit and I think most men would see it the same.
sure there is a pattern of him not coming here but there is no reason to assume that has something to do with Alabama and there is nothing factual out there he has stated to support such an assumption.
Just my 2 cent.

Why is this a-hole allowed to derail a thread like this on the forst page?

I’ve learned if you ignore something it will go away.

Could CKD be getting the entire band back together?

Please provide us links from reputable sources for this so-called widely reported rumor.
IIRC, someone found Grubb's wife's doctoral dissertation, that was entitled "Is Teacher Implicit Bias Associated With The Discipline Disparity Between Black And White High School Students?" and they just assumed she was the de facto BLM leader.
Here is a link to her dissertation.

I’ve asked the same question numerous times and all we ever hear is crickets. He should have been banned years ago.

I'm just glad we're keeping Shep on staff. I actually think he'll be the OC in 2026.

I imagine it is a strong possibility that Huff comes to Tuscaloosa tbh. I don't know how the staffing will work out but it would be nice to have an offensive-minded HC, OC, and OLC all on the same page. Even nicer if the starting QB has the capacity to execute an offense.

Can someone provide and updating coaching/staff breakdown? Who is coaching what?
Posted on 2/3/25 at 10:54 am to Wulfgar
This would be huge if we can bring Huff in…Deboer is making some big time moves this off season.

One thing for sure, if he keeps everyone (and I hope he does), this staff will have some crazy titles.

Grubb is going to make the passing offense look so much better, although much of that is because Milroe will be gone. In his 5 years as a NCAA offensive coordinator he's never had a QB with even 100 rushing yards in a season. Milroe did that several times last year.
