Not sure how realistic this is, but Chris Beard is a guy I’d like to go after. We’d probably have to break the 4 million dollar mark to tempt him to leave his situation at Texas Tech, but he’s built a top 25 program at Texas Tech in 3 seasons at a historically “meh” high major program. He’s taken them to a level that not even Bobby Knight could get them to.

I don't think there's any chance we're gonna pay that much if we fire Avery this year. 6 million to get rid of Avery, then whatever Beard's buyout is, then a $4 million contract... that'd be a ridiculous amount to spend.

All in for Pitino or Billy D. We need a coach with a name and who has proved what he can do at a big school. Im tired of the new name guys or hit names. Thats what AG was.

Our compliance office won't let us touch Pitino or Sampson with a 10 foot pole. Never happening.

I know lol. Still think we need a proven guy not a hot name.

Yeah, I agree.
Most Bama fans are ok with the hotshots that could flop.
Or making an "easy hire" like Prohm or some other DII coach.
The chances of us catching lightning in a bottle, Is about the same as other schools catching it with Saban's assistants.
If we can get turned down by Marshall, we can shoot for the stars. Pitino would be a slam. So would Donovan. Donovan aint leaving, Pitino is coaching Euro.
If the powers that be can afford such a massive upgrade for Coleman, they can hire a coach that will fill the damn place, and negotiate a buy out for the general.
It's being realistic to have a chance with snatching Pitino. Just depends on how much Bama wants to invest in an elite program.
He could take our next year roster and completely flip the script performance wise. Jmo

He nutted in a girl after 30 seconds.
We already have a coach that shoots his load prematurely.

Pitino wishes. He said it was actually LESS than 15 seconds. And people call the guy dishonest...

Pitino is a cheater and a scum bag. I dont believe the Billy D stuff, but a guy has been telling me for 2 weeks that Avery is leaving and Donovan is the one they want.

Are there rumors of him wanting back in the college game ?

Yeah, sounds like an “insider”.

My sources are telling me that Brad Stevens, Coach K, and LeBron are also in consideration.

I mean yea I'm sure they do want Donovan.
Unfortunately he has a 61% winning percentage in the NBA, had his option picked up for 19-20 and is currently sitting in 3rd place in the Western Conference at 17 games over .500.
So, yea, that's laughably ridiculous.

How much money to throw at him?

This is like asking how much money would Georgia Tech have to throw at Ron Rivera or John Harbaugh to get him to come there.
Successful professional coaches in good situations don't leave their successful professional jobs for middle of the road college jobs.

Would Billy Donovan be the basketball version of Nick Saban? In terms of his career where he is now. Won championships in college and is now in the NBA

Possibly, except he's winning in the NBA.
