I even saw an article suggesting we could be a good idea for Quinn Ewers.

Ewers had a lower QB rating than Jalen Milroe and Peyton Thorne this year.

The guy is Milroe without the running ability, why he’s still considered some elite playmaker is beyond me.

though I think Ohio State would buy him.

Ohio State already has their QB, Julian Sayin who I will be watching very closely because he could’ve been starting this year in Tuscaloosa had other decisions been made.

My hope is Ty wins the job, performs really well next season and then we have a true QB battle between Keelon and Austin for 2026.

Ty does have two years of eligibility, though. So unless you're going to push him out the door, that's another factor in the equation. Maybe he plays well enough to go to the NFL, but what if he doesn't?

As always it's based on the game last season against us. He had horrible down field pass % and then our game comes up and looks like Dan Marino. A tale as old as time

That’s not what everyone in Columbus is saying, but I guess we will see come fall camp.

Don't get me wrong, he has the inside track to start the opener in 2025, but the suggestion that he's "their QB" when he's thrown all of 12 passes just isn't correct.

1. Why worry yourself into a frazzle about it? There's nothing any of us can do about it.

2. If Keelon Russell proves without any shadow of a doubt that he's "The Man," the best QB on the roster, everybody needs to get over this "true freshmen can't be a starting QB in the SEC" deal. The landscape is different in this sport now and a lot of the old conventional wisdom isn't operative anymore. And before anyone accuses me ... as has happened ... I'm not advocating for Russell to get the job, I specifically said if he goes out and wins it.

3. I don't know that looking for stopgaps in the portal is a beneficial strategy, but I think one conventional wisdom that has changed is people are not going to go out and accumulate a locker room full of 5-star QBs anymore because in the portal era it makes no sense. There ain't enough footballs and inevitably someone is going to leave and you've wasted your time and effort.

I imagine programs are going to arrive at taking a blue chip every year at QB and maybe take an additional developmental prospect every year or other years.

So, basically, the same as every other QB room in the portal era.

What you all fail to see is we could be looking at a realistic scenario that has us with one scholarshipped QB after spring training.

No one's fault but there's a good chance this happens.

You’re insane. Ty will start out as quarterback. And will be the starter in 2025 barring a major surprise.

I don't think we lose by Mack and Ty to the portal after the spring. For one, Keelon isn't going to be named starter after the spring even if he does end up being the starter in the fall. So at the very worst one of Ty/Mack transfers, but my guess is all 3 leave the spring thinking they have a chance at the job or it's clear Ty is in the lead and Mack and Keelon know it's possible they win it in the fall but worst case they battle for it in 2026.

So worst case is we lose Mack, IMHO. And then we probably bring in an emergency QB in the spring portal for #3.

This may be the worst sky is falling take I've ever seen.

What if ALL of the QB's leave?!?!

Sometimes I wonder if people who post things like that are trolling. Otherwise, they are just totally insane. This site pays people to troll people to keep the traffic flowing.

JMO but Jalen will be the 4th QB on this roster as well as his other positions.

You're not going to have 4 good QB's on the roster anymore.

After spring one of these QB's is leaving unless that QB has a true love for Bama.

Best you can hope for is two good QB's on your roster and a third that is OK.

This will be the deal from now until some form of contract actually is in place for every player.

The BSC will take exception for sure.

Who was the last true freshman that started in the SEC and was successful? It's been a while. I can't think of one.
