Well its been over 10 years since I was coaching there. I saw a lot of the early Saban team workouts(up until 2010) and other D1 teams as well and the strongest player I ever saw was on our D2 team. Dude came out of nowhere. I thought he was a bit of a weirdo...but he won defensive player of year in our conference and had a good NFL career. We had a RB that was a ln absolute animal. No gain...was not an option for him. He also went to NFL. Either would have been starters for any SEC team.
There was at least 1-3 of these players on every team we played as well

Desperation is coming to our offensive line portal recruiting soon. We have five returning scholarship linemen, two of which have any level of experience. The rest are freshmen. Our one portal guy so far has no real experience. Sheesh.

This was a biggest need and we have lost a lot and gained absolutely nothing. This portal has been a disaster and I worry about being competitive in the SEC next year.

There are still players out there in terms of interior linemen, but I don’t see much at tackle, especially if you want an experienced guy.

I think we are ok on the DL. One more big body that can play inside would be good.

Lance Heard (Tenn) and Josiah Thompson (USCe) are the two best OTs available, but I don't know if they fit our scheme.
Also, if we're serious about bringing in an Edge guy, there are still a bunch of dudes available that are all rated higher than Ross.
