If our 11 tight ends don’t get us the first down, at least maybe we’ll be successful punting the ball

Don’t blame him after the Moore scandal. Actually don’t blame any Michigan transfers.

Should have never left here in the first place.

At this point they should just randomly ship jerseys to to all the d1 athletes and make a dating game show where the players see each other for the first time on campus then they just start playing football together

Good get on the punter, that was a glaring weakness last season.

I was our punter in HS, and I can tell you I never was able to extend my leg like that cat. God creates punters but the coach has to show him how to catch and hold the ball.

It's about time Bama hand another punter to flip the field for us for a change. Our offense had to drive the ball to at least our 45 just to keep from losing more field position. Add in the stupid attempts of running back kickoffs that got us at the 15.

I go into rage mode when I see Brooks take off with the ball. I know that he will be tackled at the 15

Very true on both counts. It was puzzling how badly Doud punted, based on his previous experience.
The kickoff returns have been a source of frustration to me, dating back to Saban's last few years. We seldom made it back to the 25 yd line, frequently were stopped inside the 20. And there was always the opportunity for a block in the back or holding penalty. The risk wasn't remotely worth the reward, to me it was just selfish and undisciplined play.

I just don't understand why he wasn't given clear instructions to NOT return.

You mean like when Billingsley would constantly run kicks back?

It especially angers me when we do it on the road, and the opposing crowd starts salivating, and we either get sacked, a holding call or a procedure penalty followed by a terrible punt.

Let’s not pretend we’ve had a ton of solid coaches for ST.

Bobby Williams gives me PTSD. Jeff Banks was a head case or had a head case stripper girlfriend with a biting monkey.

If we could actually block them they wouldn't give us heart palpitations.

Which is why that ST needs to be fired out of a canon. We got nothing from our STs unless our opponents made a grave error of their own.

We don't even think we will get something. We have been groomed to not expect anything except error.

I'm a supporter of KDB but that is on him.

I read somewhere he wanted 2 million. Said Georgia Tech offered him an insane amount and gave Michigan a chance to match. Guess they didn't feel like it.

An underestimated failing of our team was the punter. If we started very backed up - and the better teams often had good punters and our defensive style usually allowed a few first downs to get into better coffin corner punt range - then we had to really get a drive together just to make an average drive start position for our opponent.

This is how UGA buried us and to some degree a similar problem in the Indiana game too. Oklahoma 17-0 hole was 100% due to that.

Chambliss denied another year. I’m sure they’ll pivot to Deuce Knight.
