Proctor will transfer back to Alabama and re-enroll in the spring. The Athletic's Scott Dochterman was the first to report Proctor's potential return to Alabama after going on spring break with multiple of his former teammates.

This guy, intentionally or unintentionally, has pulled on the heart strings of his home state’s fanbase as much as anybody.

This has got to be because Iowa tampered with him mid-season

He'll play for both teams during their respective home games.

To deny such request is unfair, hinders his earning ability and is inequitable.

College football 2024.

Don't do that. It would be great if he did. But he's not.

While it would be funny as hell, like I said in the megathread:

Ohio State has the capacities to lock up a guy that Iowa simply does not.

Caleb Downs is not walking away from a multi-million dollar deal to play college football as a safety. That's unreal.

I don't think safeties have been getting these kinds of deals. He got a starting quarterback or elite skill player type of offer.

I think the pay is based off the type of player that he is. If he maintains his level of play he can easily go top 5. I think he got a big pay based off of that.

He's the one guy that transferred out that was completely understandable. Glad he's back.

All these sports writers who have been attacking Saban for his testimony in DC about the state of college football, are now trashing the state of college football because Proctor is transferring back to Alabama.

College athletics has just about lost me. I mean, I know this will make the team I cheer for better, but it's just stupid. Realistically how far are we from guys leaving in the middle of the season and joining another team immediately? Sounds crazy but it feels like we're closer to that than we are to the old "transfer and sit" rules.

Is he transferring back immediately? Can he participate in spring practice?

As long as athletes are still student athletes that's going to be difficult but I can imagine in the near future that distinction being eliminated completely.

Imagine Davante Adams deciding to trade himself to the Chiefs in early November.
