What happened to men's golf?
Women's basketball needs to improve. Highest paid female state employee.
Soccer just got a new coach.
Track and field/cross country continues to improve under Dan Waters
Tennis just plain sucks.

Literally just had a bad week at the SEC Championships. They were a Top 5 SEC team all season.

It's gotten better each year after the first year was decent (and the rebuild started). The mess she inherited was akin to self imposed sanctions.
2014 : 14-16 (7-9) (80 RPI)
2015 : 13-19 (2-14) (198 RPI)
2016 : 15-16 (4-12)(159 RPI) WNIT
They have a bunch of girls back. If they don't compete for an NCAA bid next season she's going to be on the hot seat in 2018.

Yea, I don't get it. Especially the girls. How can you be that bad?

The SEC record in woman's basketball has gotten worse. There non conference schedule the last two years has been very easy, then they get destroyed in the SEC.

Bama and Tennessee are the only two SEC schools with Rowing so they combine with 5 teams from the Big 12 plus Old Dominion to meet the 8 school requirement for having a conference championship. I think you have to win a conference championship to earn a trip to nationals

Were better this year than last

They showed more promise this year. They were young and lost their best player. They need to win next year or Curry is on the hot seat. She tore it down and started building it back up, but it is time to compete again now.

Did you watch any games this season? They beat two tournament teams and had single figure losses against three more.
This year was the first time they competed against any team with a pulse since Rick Moody was the coach.

They go from 7-9 SEC record 3 years ago to 4-12 last year. And they are getting better? Sure they beat the worst Tennessee team in like 40 years this year. But what else?

That team had the last remnants of the prior regime. She kind of started over at that point, like a lot of coaches do.

It's sad to use this as a positive, but they had much more competitive losses to good teams
Vs Top 100 RPI Teams
#4 South Carolina : L 66-46
#14 Kentucky : L 73-48
#17 Tennessee : L 70-42
#17 Tennessee : W 54-46
#21 Mississippi State : L 61-52
#25 TA&M : L 59-56
#29 Florida : L 80-72
#39 Missouri : L 63-52
#45 UGA : W 64-50
#49 Auburn : L 72-59
#49 Auburn : L 59-55
#62 MTSU : W 64-46
#64 Tulane : L 53-52
#74 GT : L 70-58
#77 Vandy : L 54-48
#77 Vandy : L 67-52
#95 UTM : L 83-65
The prior year we lost most of those games by 20-40 pts. This year we played 17 games against the Top 100 and either won or lost by 10 or less in 9 of them.
They were more competitive. They need to win half of them next year to keep moving forward.

What happened to women's tennis? They were top 15 team last year and SEC runner-up and NCAA Elite 8 team the year before.

I know - that's a crazy fall from grace

So....... We're winning the SEC next year
As for women's tennis.... the rosters are like under 10 girls. Losing two or three crucial players to graduation or transfer can drop you like a rock.

Isn't there a men's rowing team?
Posted on 5/18/16 at 8:43 pm to CrimsonCrusade
Yes, they compete in the B12. Idk how they did.
Posted on 5/18/16 at 9:35 pm to CrimsonCrusade
Men's rowing is a club team. Women's rowing is a varsity sport and competes in the "Big 12" comprised of 5 Big 12 schools, Bama, Tennessee, and ODU
