I'm sorry he's dead, but I'm not going to pretend he was a saint.

That girl had 2 other men's semen on her underwear when she went for the "rape" kit. It's proven she was a crazy person and was not raped by Kobe.

He broke his marriage vows, but never raped anyone.

The man had a daughter also die in that crash and that dickhead has to be a self-righteous attention whore brining up a rape that never happened to shame a flawed but great person.

That dude is shite. He should log off forever.

"Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did," Bryant said in a statement at the time, as read by his attorney, per Babb. "After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter."

Honest oversight, I guess.

Geez man... have a little context man.
What points are you trying to prove?
We all know he’s not a saint, but the guy just passed away tragically today.... be a little more compassionate

That was probably legalese he was forced to say. If you kept up with the trial it was obvious that the girl was a flirt and tease who was manipulating him. She didn't say a word of protest until he was a the "point of entry". What do you expect him to think?

He was unfaithful. As bad as that is, it was not even close to rape. She was far more culpable. The whole episode was bogus from her standpoint.

You're an arse for that comment. This wasnt the time or place to go there. A family lost husband, a father and a son.

He didn’t rape anybody. And yes, he was a great guy.

This doesn't prove no rape occurred, FYI.

I always thought Kobe's press release was a very mature response to the episode, but the public shaming of the accuser was just so gross, as is often the case in rape and sexual assault/harassment cases.

No, it was never proven he raped her, but it was also never proven he did not rape her.

I can only speak about Kobe's time in an LA uniform. He was a volume scorer, just like his hero MJ. It was amazing that Phil Jackson could put the pieces together twice and figure out how to get both guys to share the ball just enough to win titles. But in Kobe's case, Shaq was the big brother and established star of the team. Pippen had no game that could rival Jordan and was no rival.

Frankly, Kobe grew tired of the second fiddle and when they had Karl Malone, Gary Payton trying to win their first championship, I couldn't believe my eyes. Kobe quit playing. And the Lakers lost.

Later the feud and breakup of the Lakers were imminent if the Lakers wanted to keep Bryant in LA. Kobe blew up his own championship team out of jealousy of not being the big Dog. O'Neal's personality was just a huge part of the guy and still is today. But for all the praises of Kobe's scoring prowess and determination to win, he quit on the Lakers in a championship series. It was truly a Roberto Duran, "no mas" moment.

He was a great scorer and he won without Shaq, once the glue, Phil Jackson dusted off his ego and decided to coach the Lakers again. But I was a huge Laker fan back to Magic and Kareem's "Showtime" era. Kobe had a lot of growing up to do.
