I’m sorry but you are mistaken. I’m a former Texas HS ref and Texas is one of only two states that use NCAA rules. Leaping like that is a penalty. Period.

It had to be true what I read. It was on twitter.

All I know is that if the jersey names were reversed we'd get called for that shite.

The bias is strongly against us. And it's at BDS so getting no respect in our own house.

Apparently, the OU leaper was on the LOS when the ball was snapped, thus legal to do what he did.

Yes but he still can't push off the snapper which he did so it was still illegal.

So officiating is to blame for OU sweeping the state of Alabama...

I’m not stating that at all. BAMA had plenty of other opportunities to win the game. I do wonder how you can miss a 6’ 2” 275 pound dude jumping over the OL.

They took a TD off the board in Norman last year too.

Venables coaches on the edge. They do a lot of things to test the rules.

Yes they do and he will test the boundaries to see just what he can get away with. The number of missed calls in our games and others involving Oklahoma are mind boggling. What is going on? OU is blatantly cheating since joining the SEC and it’s being overlooked and allowed. Last year it was the phantom illegal formation call that cost Alabama the TD, this year, they ran an illegal play against Auburn and against Alabama got away with multiple obvious PI’s, the illegal leverage on the FG, etc. It was just as bad in their game with Ole Miss earlier in the season. Why are they being allowed to blatantly and repeatedly play outside the rules? It’s complete bullshite that one of the newest members of the league gets special treatment at the expense of the original members. They need to be stopped.

I was wondering the same thing also. Has the rule been changed?

No. We were called for it earlier this season. That should have been called.

Why no penalty on that play?

If this was the other way around you know LSU fans would put billboards up in Birmingham. There would be 15 threads on the rant discussing the ongoings of the REC. This is not getting talked enough in my opinion. That was the difference in the game (not saying Talty would have made the FG anyways, but it would have been another opportunity)

It was a six point swing in their favor. It could easily end up costing us a spot in the playoff if we end up losing to Auburn. No doubt that if the roles had been reversed that rival fans and the media would be screaming from the rooftops. But since it happened to Bama, it’s all good.

Yeah people love to talk about “Bama ref bias” but ignore shite like this. Bama is going to continue to be the most hated team in the sport for a while.

I know it’s Reddit and r/CFB sucks but the majority of the most highly upvoted posts all-time on that sub are Alabama losses. Lots of people also hate watch Alabama every year making Bama the most watched team.

OSU or UGA might get up there if they win another title but Saban owned everyone’s asses for so long it broke their minds

Unfortunately the rule is that as long as the defender is stationary and within 1 yard of the LOS he can jump. Just can’t get a running start.

THIS....they won because of it. They knocked Horton off the hot route and got away with it for a pick six and tried something similar in the end zone later picking off another one but got flagged.

This is what pisses me off so much. Georgia has been dominant under Kirby Smart. Hell, they were good under Mark Richt. But the media like ESPN and CBS loves UGA. It’s complete horseshite. Politics are at the heart of it.

I wasn't being a smart arse. I was legit stating a fact They also missed two penalties on the pick 6. Take that one away and we win the game.

Most of those people have an extra chromsome and the IQ of a chihuahua.

Alabama is statistically one of the most penalized teams in the country and our opponents are consistently among the least penalized. This has been an issue for nearly ten seasons now. We lost to LSU in 2022 because the refs missed a block in the back on their go ahead TD. Corrupt officiating was 100% why Tennessee won that same year. And last season, officiating played a huge role in Tennessee's win over us again.

It's also funny reading all of these Auburn retards on social media claim "the refs are gonna hose Auburn in 2 weeks" when 2018 was the last time Auburn drew more flags in the IB than Bama...
