I think his Dad fricked us. Honestly seems like he is Caleb’s handler.

Caleb Odom has to see that he has an excellent opportunity to see the field this season.

He is. But Downs isn’t a mute either.

If we use tes the way everyone says Deboer and Grubbs use tes, it would seem an ideal situation for Odom. Especially with Niblack leaving.

I’m assuming there was a verbal agreement and this wasn’t just an outbid us. I man’s word isn’t his bond any more unfortunately.

Imagine being OSU feeling you are killing it the past two weeks and coming out with....

- A center who can't snap the ball.
- A RB who is a locker room cancer.
- An AD who keeps falling upwards.
- An OC who is the most unimaginative playcaller.

For all we know Saban promised him and his family he would be there his entire stay and when Saban breaks his word you can't expect the teenager to keep his side of the bargain.

Sucks for us

Add in the locker room dynamic of knowing this kid got PAID. If you’re a starting DB at OSU you better get a raise too. Can’t imagine Styles is going to be thrilled with this dude getting all this money without playing a down for OSU.

And I frankly don’t care about talking about it on a public forum.

You sure seem to be talking about it right now?

I get it, Downs kinda fricked us. I was told last Saturday by someone in the building we needed a bag for Downs, I could have told you then it was a long shot. We're never going to be the NIL leader with some of the other schools being years ahead of us in the game. Is what it is right now.

Nah it’s not about competing. It’s about being smart. The well will dry up. OSU is trying to buy the best roster without worrying about chemistry.

REC has gotten fat and lazy depending on Saban recruiting magic. We have the boosters to compete with most schools outside of maybe Texas, A&M, Oregon, etc. Just got to wake their asses up.

It's an indisputable fact that players were willing to come to play for tGOAT at a significant NIL discount versus what they were offered elsewhere. We're now witnessing that. Hell, we're far and away the second best NIL collective in our own state. We might not even be top 10 (or 15?) in the country right this second.

Yeah I don’t think it’s him. His dad will further micromanage the hell out of his finances and public image when he gets into the NFL top

Boz, how is Downs situation not considered an inducement to attend OSU? That's still not allowed by the NCAA, correct?

Was it for 1 year or spread over multiple years?

OSU rumor is $2mill for 2 years.

Who’s gonna enforce it. It will get taken to court about preventing a kid for getting what he considers fair market value for his services.
