Maybe Deboer has a different strategy.
Core group of players to go with free agents.
Hell, for all I know, we are busy tampering for players come spring portal

He has been the Coach for 5 days. Getting a staff hired, moved across the country, and in front of your current team can't be done overnight. They all have agents and families, too.

Who gives a shite that no one has called the 2025's yet? That's like 6th on the list of things that need KDB's attention right now.

Is Ryan Williams the only one that has decommitted from the '24 class?

I do. But I blame the director of player personnel more than anything.
Cause sometimes I’m silly

Not to mention that alabamas football department is a monster and a shitload of those people in support positions have their jobs up in the air, are taking new jobs and whatever else. This weather prolly isn’t helping either TBH.
But damn, I’d have someone calling everyone once to say hi and that we can’t wait to meet them in person and develop a relationship. That doesn’t take very long. Especially with the number 2 edge of that class. Just sayin

Yes, because Williams and Quinton Reese are the only ones that didn't sign in December.

None of the December signees have asked out of their LOIs, and Ryan Williams has been on campus this week.

Which, in the big scheme is definitely more important than the edge, so I get what you’re saying.
I guess I’m just holding Deboer to what he said and how organization is his strong point. We will see and it’s way too early to determine any modicum of success or failure on that front.

Not to mention that, for all I know, that kid doesn’t fit in with the our scheme the way the new staff wants. That simple.
This sucks because we operate in the dark but there are some smart people running shite.
Time for them to earn

No doubt that Reese has a spot now, the numbers game wasn't in his favor. Now there are several open spots. Congrats Reese.

Alabama and a number of support staffers are parting ways such as ex-BC OC John McNulty and ex-LSU QB Zach Mettenberger, sources tell @chris_hummer and me for @247sports.

The expectation is that others like Ken Whisenhunt and Charlie Strong also won’t be part of the new staff.

You do realize, don't you, that some of those kids will likely never get calls from the current staff, especially not until they've had a chance to evaluate for themselves?

Had no idea that Mettenberger was on our support staff.

Greg Byrne says on

he’s always heard the age old narrative “Who would want to succeed Nick Saban?”

He says he looked at it a different way in the coaching search. He wanted to find someone that “embraced that challenge.”

He said Coach DeBoer immediately expressed he’d embrace that challenge.
