That's not that big of a deal if they'd made sure to pay them all they were owed. We also have no idea if the teams threw them an extra "per diem" type payment or something to cover the flight. Context is very important, and salacious "one sentence" style journalism is not journalism at all.

AAF is officially over. No need to put at top.

Well, not officially, no. The league has not yet folded.
Dundon has so far only suspended operations temporarily, but says he will not resume it unless he reaches a deal with the NFLPA. So, it's very unlikely they will return to finish the season.

My favorite memory of the Iron was the GoalLine Stand against the Commanders. That was epic.

What I dont understand is why not wait until you have the Nationally televised games on CBS starting Saturday before the Final 4 and going all the way through the AAF title game. See what those ratings do and if they are good try and negotiate a TV deal.

That guy invested with intent to shut down IMO.

Sucks for the players. Hopefully, some of them will be invited to NFL camps this summer.

The union didn't do anything wrong. The AAF failed because it was undercapitalized. It looks like they ran out of money after week 1 and would of folded if not for dude coming to the rescue. They then bled 70 million in 6 weeks somehow. The league never had a chance imo. The players union stuff is a smokescreen.

Perhaps more commercials would have been a better plan instead of less. Got to have the bucks.

Ironically, the games could have been non-stop commercials, with the game only shown picture-in-picture and the AAF wouldn't have seen another dime, because they gave up the first year's tv revenue entirely as a sign of good faith.

How was a league in this much trouble, this quickly, considering its early ratings were promising and people were excited? NFL insider Benjamin Allbright said on the radio show Pushing The Odds that the AAF wasn’t making any money off its broadcasts, no matter how many people were tuning in. Part of its partnership with CBS called for the AAF to provide CBS with programming, free of charge, for the first year. This was designed to be a proof of concept, engendering goodwill with broadcasters in the hopes of cashing in for the second season. This ensured the AAF would get plenty of exposure, but did nothing to actually keep the league afloat.
