This league bungled the finances from the start.

I disagree. The AAF was started and has been managed really, really well. You start a minor league pro football league, give me identifiable players to root for, and put it on easy-to-find TV channels - and do it seamlessly in year 1? Smashing success. This is still a really hard venture to pull off long-term. That doesn't equal "bungled."

The only reason that dude invested 250 million was that another backer had recently pulled out unexpectedly. Additionally, 250 million dollars was way, WAY more than they were looking for, and way, WAY more than what they lost when that backer pulled out.

They didn't need or ask for 250 million. But they got it in the end, and solved their financial issues for the foreseeable future.

Hearing similar rumblings about the #AAF tonight. Some staff being told they are out of a job & others bracing for similar. Looks like the Alliance of American football will go the way of the USFL & others....

All @TheAAF football operations will be suspended in the next few hours, per source with knowledge of situation. League is not folding, yet. But it's heading that way.

Not surprising. The product was really bad.

But these kids are worth millions of dollars when they were in college is what people claim.

All this does is confirm what I've said for years in regards to paying players - it's the schools that bring in the big draw, not the players.

If that was not the case, leagues like this would last more than a few months.

according to this article, the nflpa is the major issue forcing the aaf out of business.

Surprised by that really. It's just the first year of the league, if talent level is really an issue - that is something that would improve in time.

i think it has more to do with the aaf players not being a part of the nflpa. they arent getting those union dues. the union was not included in the orchestration of the aaf.

Dundon investing solely for the betting app AAF was developing is savvy, yet annoying if true.

I really hate it, feels like everyone was used. It was fun to watch, as it was a local team with guys who needed this chance.

Hope guys like Trent, Saxton, Sanders,Sayles get another shot in the NFL.

Jeremy Faulk is a guy who really needed this league, he got shafted at Baylor and needed a chance to show his worth.
