I mean, we have a sitting president stating he hopes to cripple Russia's economy by shutting down their oil pipeline, but at the same time says his decision to shut down our own hasn't had an effect on our economy.
fricking clown world.

Both suck, that's why I wished Rand Paul won in 2016. He understands economics.

US crude oil production is around what it was in 2019. Biden didn’t shut down a pipeline. He stopped construction of a pipeline that wasn’t scheduled to be completed until 2023, at the earliest. It had little to no impact on current supplies. US refining capacity is lagging behind production which is impacting supply, and Russia being cut off from the global economy has put a crunch on global supply.
Biden is an idiot, but at least use actual facts to criticize him.

The U.S. went from 16,500-17,000 brrls. per day up until Biden went into office and immediately dropped down to 11,000 brrls per day!
You lying liberal POS won't show how Biden's people slammed the door in the face of the fossil fuel industry, starting the day after he took office...permits were nearly impossible to get, and they made the paperwork(bureaucracy) so slow and tedious that it took forever, not to mention the attitude/atmosphere within those govt. departments immediately became hostile and uncooperative.
You ain't fooling the public with your statistic manipulation! Statistics can show whatever you want them to by using misguided denominators!

Oil production fell off the cliff in 2020 as demand fell because of the pandemic. Which is why I pointed out that current production is approaching 2019 levels. It’s not there yet. Refining capacity has yet to catch up, which is hurting supply. And yea, there was also a sharp decline soon after Biden took office, but quickly rebounded.
What have I lied about? You can pull charts from numerous sources that show 2022 production has been trending up and approaching 2019 levels. Many analysts are projecting 2023 production will exceed 2019 and set records.

The price of everything revolves around oil, and the law of supply vs demand dictates the price of oil. When oil is plentiful, commodities are cheap.
When oil is scarce, commodities are more expensive.
Right now domestic oil is scarce, and the price of everything is high because of these restrictions imposed by Biden and the federal government.
Fact is, it's not China, Russia, or the Ukraine's fault as to why everything's so expensive right now.
It's Joe Biden's fault, because he is suppressing the domestic oil industry.

Yes, I understand supply and demand. Demand is up, and supply isn’t meeting that demand. The original post I responded to blamed it on Biden’s policies on drilling. US production from drilling is almost at 2019 levels. The problem is at the refinery stage. We just aren’t refining enough to meet demand. Compounding the problem is US companies are exporting more because of the sanctions on Russian oil.

The oil companies wont repair or add to the refineries because they have been told we are doing away with gas powered vehicles. They are not going to spend large sums of money for a temporary fix to our problems. From what I read we dont have the ability or materials to make enough batteries to convert to ev plus, it would just create problems with electricity production. We already have capacity problems in the summer months.

Yep. Looks like it's going to be Katie Britt in the Senate for the rest of our lives.
Yay us?
Yay us?

why are people dissing on Katie? What am I missing?

If Katie can benefit Alabama during her career half as much as Shelby did, the state will be very fortunate!

She's a US Chamber of Commerce shill. She's going to be conservative on social issues (hopefully) and whatever the US Chamber of Commerce wants her to be on economic issues.
Hopefully she proves me wrong.
ETA: If the Senate is ever in need of a 60th vote for another gun control bill, it wouldn't surprise me for her to be it.

Hopefully you're right. I think the actions of the Business Council of Alabama while she was CEO show otherwise.

I honestly don't get it either. Like Shelby or not he brought in a TON of $ to the state of Alabama. He also brought a lot of $ to our universities. I believe UA's rise in Engineering can be attributed to him at least a little. Maybe Britt can follow in his footsteps? I still haven't heard a good reason why people hate Shelby/Britt.

Like what? She was at the BCA for 2 years, during the covid shutdown. She led the charge to keep Ala open and to prevent frivolous lawsuits due to covid. The people at BCA think the world of the work she did. Said she was a relentless worker. And that is what is wrong with Mo Brooks. He is lazy as it gets. A republican in the House said all he does is sit on the back row and uses his own little rating system to rate the other legislators. A Republican legislator from Louisiana said a Senate seat is a terrible thing to waste, when referring to Mo.

That is the reason I voted for Britt. We need representatives in the House and Senate who can get on money committees and keep money coming to Alabama.

We love pork as long as it's coming to Alabama, right?
I don't like Mo Brooks, but let's not pretend Katie Britt is some real fighter. Like Shelby, she will sit back and be perfectly fine with the status quo in Washington and vote for pork projects that will send money to Alabama and keep the supply of mindless voters.
