So Blanchard TV ad said she would personally drive all the illegals to the airport, and make them pay their own plane ticket. That is genuine?

About as genuine as a car dealer on TV saying "save here!"

Seriously, it's disturbing how people fall for primary ads.

I'm voting for Lew. Just at a basic level, I feel like he'd be the best of the bunch to represent Alabama. It would be nice to not have an embarrassing figure head.

If Ivey can be kept under 50%, all bets are off in a runoff. Who would have the best shot against her 1 on 1?

Probably Tim James but Ivey will have the war chest and name recognition

Of course not. I wouldn’t support Blanchard in a million years so don’t take it as a vote of support for her. My comment was more being critical of Ivey and James. Genuine was probably a horrible choice of words. She has a compelling origin story, and I admit I can be a sucker for those. That doesn’t mean I support that candidate.

I'm voting for:

Ivey: Record education & mental health funding + job creation

Britt: Will be our next senator on the Appropriations committee to direct federal funds to AL

Any others are just noise and/or not good for AL.

Sounds like she's following the Brian Kemp playbook. Her next commercial will involve her daughter's terrified boyfriend, a gun that may or may not loaded, and an appalling lack of trigger discipline.

If I were one of the other gubernatorial candidates I would go after Ivey on two particular things:

1) Why have other Governors, both Republican and Democrat, suspended or reduced their state’s gas tax during this gas price crisis, but she refuses to consider doing such a thing?

2) Why with all of the gas tax money and federal infrastructure money do we still have sections of interstate in populated areas that remain pothole covered messes? Why are 95% of the reflectors missing on interstates? Why are there sections of interstate that were repaved a year ago but have never gotten their permanent striping (that’s an issue near where I live)?

Good profile on Lindy Blanchard. She doesn’t have much of a shot at this point, but she seems far more genuine than Ivey and James. Have to wonder what her numbers would look like had she focused on her back story and not her ties to Trump through her ambassadorship.

Have to disagree here. Lindy has run one of the most disingenuous campaigns in recent Alabama history. She’s literally stolen ideas, ads, lines, etc. from other candidates. She appears at events wearing a big MAGA hat and gives the Trump “thumbs up” when giving pictures. That isn’t a genuine person when it’s done to the levels she’s at. If anything, her money has cost other candidates the chance to break through. She’s been running for statewide office for over a year while having more money than anyone else and is still floundering around 10%.

The state media really showed how lazy they are during this election cycle. They haven’t pushed Ivey on anything. In fact, they seemed to relish pushing out all of her press releases and ribbon cutting photos. No major outlets hosted debates. She’s accepted millions of money from out of state PACs and hasn’t had to field a question about it when she goes to one of her daily ground breakings.

Alabama really needs better news organizations that can facilitate statewide discussions.

Seeing more Lew signs around. Maybe he can back his way to the runoff some how.

It’s still pretty wild to me that Ivey gets the support she gets. You talk to people around the state and you would never know she was a safe incumbent.

I'm voting for Lew all the way. The more I see about the guy, the more I like him. If he doesn't make it, I hope he runs again next time.

I’ve been in on Lew from the start. Seems to me he made a mistake of limiting his contributions. Just couldn’t get his message out until the end. I watched the pseudo debate they had a few weeks back and it wasn’t even a contest between Lindy & Tim vs Lew.

Meanwhile Kay got a bunch of PAC money from DC so she didn’t have to do shite. It’s just insulting at this point.

I'll vote for anyone who gets into a runoff with her. I truly don't care who it is.

Hopefully it's Lew though.

Yeah, keeping the gas tax in place during this gas price crisis and then the general failure I see in using the gas tax funds to fix interstates and highways that really need it has really made me pissed at Ivey. I’ll probably vote for Burdette.

Pork is good as long it comes to Alabama, right? Most “conservatives” aren’t interested in spending cuts, they just want the massive spending to go to their states and things they like.

Lew Burdette's got my vote tomorrow.
Like most us, he's adamantly against Ivey's state wide gas tax.
