Kay Ivey “I have no reason not to believe the women but I am voting for Roy Moore.”

Rejection of Roy Moore did more for this state internationally than anything I remember.
She has no skills. Walt is a moderate. There are many in the Democratic Party of Alabama. It is time for us old folk to turn the reins to the next generation. We have screwed things up enough. He has a real plan. Ivey’s plan is licking Trump’s boots and keeping this state in the dark ages of corruption.
Listen to Walt’s plans. He has excellent ones

Pretty embarrassing for Ivey. Plays right into what a lot of people think about her. Amazing that she’ll coast into another term.

I hate this state sometimes, and I can’t stand Hillary.

Ivey is a Republican version of Hillary. She wondered around state politics until it was her turn. She’s protected in a bubble and won’t engage anyone if it isn’t on a script that’s provided by her team. She doesn’t want to do anything to earn your vote. She’s just expecting you to give it to her. Sound familiar?

Maddox may have supported Hillary, but Ivey supported Roy Moore even after she stated that she believed the accusers. Wrap your head around that one.

Not going to champion Maddox but the power in the State of Alabama rests with the legislature, not the Governor. Electing a Democrat won’t exactly mean we’ll become California.

I think a third party could do damage in a state like AL.

It is Josh Moon.

He could not keep a job at the Montgomery Advertiser.

Fair reporting isn’t his strong suit.

I agree. He’s also a huge douchebag.

But it’s not like he doctored the video.

Look. I support Trump. Whoever is running, and supporting him, is who I’m voting for. I’m sorry if you don’t like it.

Moon sucks big time, but the video speaks for itself. Having a terrible candidate can't be blamed on unfair reporting.

And before anyone jumps on me, I'm aware this terrible candidate will probably win, which is a sad, sad commentary on politics in Alabama.

You can still support a candidate and hold them accountable to a standard. No politician, no matter the party, should be able to just go into a shell and feel like they don’t have to do anything to earn the vote.

If the recent article are true, I don't see her winning this fall.

I'm also not interested in joining the #resist movement. Ivey should not have won the primary, but she did. There's no way I can vote for someone who supports the current D platform.

It was stupid of her to say she believed the accusers, that's for sure. They weren't credible.

She has no reason to debate Maddox. There's no benefit to her. You may not like the tactic, but it's a valid political move.

And that says more about the voters in Alabama than it does Ivey.

I've lived in Georgia most of my life and I don't think I've ever voted for governor in any state. I'm just some apathetic, but more jaded. I did vote for Cruz in the Republican primary because I thought he could beat Hillary Clinton, and I figured if Hillary were elected, she'd "document" anybody in the US and a Republican presidential candidate would never have a chance again. We'd lean to the left enough to tip over and capsize Quam (thanks Hank).

The Georgia election pits a very conservative Trump supporter and a very progressive female Democrat candidate. Most polls show it to be a very close race. The Republicans are spending a lot of time and ad money trying to discredit her, so obviously they are concerned about it.

If I were to vote, I'd hesitate voting for any Democrat governor because even though it may be the best choice, a few more states going Democrat will also probably seal the fate for the Republicans. It's possible that Alabama and Georgia may go Democrat. And the times they are a changin.

ha. Check out the photo for an Atlanta Journal/Constitution article about the election. A smiling Stacy Abrams and a dumbfounded looking Kemp. Photo and politics aside, but just going on personality, I'd rather hang out with her than him. He seems kind of sleazy. .

I don't know about Georgia, but Alabama isn't going Democrat anytime soon, regardless of what happens in the Governor's race. OUr system is still set up to favor the rural areas, and those areas are very, very conservative. The state legislature is going to be conservative for the foreseeable future, and the power in Alabama lies more with the state legislature than it does the governor's office, also by design.

Now, Alabama may see a Dem governor, or another Doug Jones in the Senate. But the state government will not go liberal any time soon.
