So my source on the matter is a player physically in the meeting and a coach that caught it later. I trust those two on this. As 1 has no reason to say he was in a meeting if he really wasn’t and the other caught the backside of the meeting backlash.

So was Jalen specifically trying to undermine Tua and/or the coaching staff with this meeting? Was he just simply addressing the issue of the QB position? He and Tua seem so close and what we're hearing about this meeting just sounds like something you don't do to someone you're close with. Is it being misrepresented and not as bad as we think? I feel like if it was just a meeting to talk there would have been boat rocked and Saban would be fine. Saban supposedly being upset leads me to believe something like Jalen saw the writing on the wall and tried to rally the team to oppose the decision to start Tua and to play Jalen.

If you don't mind me asking Boz, and thanks for sharing this with us today, was Tua in this meeting and how many players actually rallied behind Jalen, IF it was his intent on holding the meeting.

Apparently this is fact. Even Aaron Suttles is saying as much and he is always super conservative.

The way I heard was Saban doesn’t like team meetings he isn’t aware of.

The player told me it wasn’t bad towards Tua but that Jalen loved them all but had to take care of himself depending on what was going to happen. I don’t think anyone walked away mad or split but, the perception to the coaches wasn’t great.

If this means we will give more backup reps to Mac the next few weeks, I'm all for it. No sense in giving time to a QB we know has maxed out. Let's let Mac suffer some growing pains in garbage time.

Yeah I hope it doesn't get ugly. Regardless of how it plays out I hope Jalen is still seen in a positive light for what he has already accomplish

Me too. Really like Jalen and pulled for him during USC game and moving forward . If he plans to transfer or redshirt I will still think highly of the young man provided he is not trying to divide the team.

If the rumors are so, and after his last little rant I believe it probably is so, then frankly, I'd like him better if he just goes away than if he stays.

Tua Time baby - I'm sure Saban has known for a while.

I wonder if whatever went down at this meeting changed the planned snap split. Or if he was always going to name a starter before the game.

I know you have sources, but I still always take your info with a grain of salt, because sources can be wrong.

But right now, I really, really want you to be correct.

It was probably Tua the whole time but Saban just trying to make sure Petrino devoted as much time preparing for our running quarterback as he could squeeze. Probably worked.

Also Saban wanting to give Tua a little extra push of motivation and all.

Exactly...wanted Tua to keep working to improve, get better, be a leader......don't get a big head after the title game.
