We will hear literally every excuse yet not one can explain missing reads or not knowing how pr when to get down while running.
I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that being medicated for an injury could affect his play.
I'm speaking solely from personal experience, though.

Complaining about missed reads requires a level of football knowledge generally about the game and specifically to that instance that most of us lack to be frank.
Well, honestly that doesn't apply to me.

Grubb had no idea how to manage Ty mental state or coach him up in a way that worked . Add in we didn't have a running game and its no wonder Ty had gastritis.

And by the grace of God, we are all fortunate enough to have YStar’s infinite wisdom showered upon this board.

I’m kind of in this camp. How on earth could we run Ty in this state against freaking UGA? Let alone Indiana? I want to win but damn.

Gastritis is a very common side effect of heavy NSAID use. It’s more likely, since he lost all that weight, he had a gastric ulcer actually on top of the gastritis. Really he had a back problem and everything else was down stream of that. Really sucks because he was on fire up until about midway through the mizzu game.
As far as the howling about malpractice goes narcotics and a bunch of other stuff are banned so there isn’t much choice in what’s allowed. Ty probably wanted to play and for all we know was told Not to take nsaids but he took them anyway. They are OTC. Wish him the best in NFL.

There’s posters on here that will breakdown tape or tendencies occasionally. You don’t do that.
You just make a talking point like 90% of us except you follow it up by saying you know football. Anyone here could say that too. Doesn’t mean shite

I think that was the game Formby played like complete shite and got Ty destroyed. Formby couldnt even get out of his stance.

Prednisone (steroid) usually makes you swell up.

yeah, buy its constipation related. Which wouldn't have caused him to lose that much weight in 1.5 months. He would have had to be shitting his brains out, and barely eating, to lose that much weight that quickly.
Didn't know we had so many doctors on this board.

I’ve been lucky to frequent message boards and social mediums full of virologists, trade economists, football coaches, and much more. It is incredible how despite how dumb our country seems, I keep on finding places with the expertise of whatever the moment demands.

EXACTLY. He confuses arrogance with knowing what he's talking about. They're not the same thing. I've never seen a poster with a bigger hard on for a player than Y Star. With him, it's personal for some weird reason.

But IANAD, but have family history of autoimmune disorders for which prednisone is prescribed long-term (even though it isn’t recommended). I assume they gave him high-dose steroids for the bulging disc and bursitis.

I don’t know whether to question Kalen’s leadership, the quality of our QB room heading in to next year, or both. We should’ve had a guy ready to step up and not run Ty out there dealing with severe medical issues.

There’s a bad appearance of a pattern developing here: there were games where Milroe was absolutely stinking it up (Oklahoma, Michigan) and it was obvious to everyone but a blind man that a QB change should have been made. But DeBoer refused to change QB’s. I don’t think Milroe was injured but a change was needed.
This past season, it was very clear that by the end Ty wasn’t the same QB that started the season, that something was physically wrong with him and he should have been benched for his own good and for the good of the team. And once again, DeBoer would not do what he’s paid to do which is do what is best for the team. We all know Ty wanted to tough it out but that should be a coach’s decision and it should be made to err on the side of caution for the player.
I’m not a CKD hater but this chicken shite mentality of not wanting to make the tough decisions is not going to work in Tuscaloosa. You’re being paid handsomely to make hard choices, choices that nobody likes to make but ones that are sometimes necessary. Grow a set of balls and do your fricking job or go back to Washington where you can be both a coach and a pussy at the same time. It’s not an option at Bama.

I agree it seemed that way from the outside looking in, but keep in mind we don't know what the medical staff recommended, or if the backups were even 100% healthy.
We also don't know how difficult this probably is in the age of NIL with agreements and stipulations that have no consistency across the roster, because there is no players association like there is in the NFL. That includes both starters and guys on the bench.
In other words, yes, it's easy for us to make to that call, but I'm guessing roster management and playing time is way, way more complicated for the staff now than it ever has been.
Unfortunately (and it's across the whole sport) there's a reason Nick Saban hung up the headset.
