Guys like Barkley, Fournette, Gurley, McCaffrey, Richardson, and Zeke came into the draft with tons of tape, accolades, and ridiculous amounts of hype as generational talents. All those guys were receiving that hype well before their final season was even over. Jacobs doesn’t have any of that due to his very limited playing time.

Honestly I don't think hype is doing to be any kind of determining factor in where Jacobs is drafted. It's going to be entirely on his ability and potential.

I think the guy that suggested that he's an attractive prospect because of what McCaffrey and Kamara have done from a receiving standpoint is correct. I think he has a great chance to go in the first round based on his entire game, but I do agree that top five is a huge reach.

It wouldn't shock me to see Jacobs go pretty high in the first round. Maybe not top 5, but he is that good.

Ain’t no way in shite Jacobs goes in the top 5 of the NFL draft. Absolute nonsense.

I think he was banking on a least the 3rd round for monetary reasons. I see him as a legit 2nd round option for a team. If he wanted 1st round, then he stays another year.

The way Jacobs played this year even with limited chances he is first round worthy.
He was everything NFL looks for in a RB. Maybe height?
He is quick shifty fast tough, fantastic blocker and terrific receiver. What else you want in a running back?
Jeremiah is an expert draft evaluater not just a random fan with a draft website and his picks match team needs not just the order of best players. Puts his reputation on the line with his mocks. We have to take him at least semi-seriously.

Last year, Jeremiah had 25 of 32 first round players correct in his mocks as early as January. Teams weren't 100% right, but he knows talent. He has Jacobs as a top 10 player in this draft.

That being said, he prefers ranking players over mock drafts, but has also said that NFL.com makes them do mocks.

Over the last 5 years he has been the second most accurate media draft/talent evaluator, behind Mayock.

the "experts" are claiming Jonah's shorter than ideal length will cause him to slide in, but Cole Cubelic said on JOX this week that Joe Thomas length was smaller than Jonahs and look how he turned out.

Joe was also an elite athlete at the position.

That being saidJonah is the most technically sound tackle in years, and is a good enough athlete to be fine at LT. Every other tackle in this draft needs coaching, Jonah is the closest thing to a plug'n'play tackle from a technique and knowledge standpoint.

So if you go middle 3rd round you get a 1 million bonuse and 4 years at around 700k.

You pizz away 100k right off the bat on stuff. Then your financial advisor tells you to draw only 100k per year for your salaries. With if you handle that then at age 58 you're finally out of money from contract #1.

Downside is that 1 million bonus is all the guaranteed money your team owes you so if you don't make a roster then you're shite out of luck after one year.

Check my posts - I've said Jacobs was our best back for the last two years. He makes things happen every time he touches the ball - which was way too seldom.

He should have been on the field for at least 2/3 of Bama's offensive plays.

Too late now.

Lots of talk of Jonah sliding to the second because the NFL teams see him as a guard.

Even if a team picking in the top 5 wanted Jacobs. They would trade down and get the excess value of that pick

Any REAL NFL Scouts that are employed by teams will tell you anyone that doesn't have the Jonah Williams as their top LT on the board, they don't know how to evaluate, PFF still has him listed as their best graded OT to come out in about 10 years. The "buzz" surrounding his arm length and height just might be the Patriots camp trying to get him to fall because they need a OT BAAAD but I hope to all things good that he just falls to 6 for Tampa to take him, we haven't had a good LT since Donald Penn

Regarding Jacobs, I have said this before...his film is REEEAAAL good, possibly even better than Henry was because of some of the things Jacobs was able to do reading coverages, getting open, running routes advanced for a RB, reading holes etc, to compare Henry barely caught any passes and the OL that was much better mashed on people and opened huge holes, he was more physical at the POA. The biggest factor that may push him INTO the 1st round is how he does in the combine. Value for RBs has tanked significantly in the last 3 or 4 years and some scouts may pound the table for guys in War Rooms on draft day, but if the combine numbers aren't there, the brass aren't going to listen...and they still may not. I even have doubts about Jacobs being the first RB off the board before the Combine, it is so crucial for that position.

Deionte Thompson should be the first S off the board, but he will go to a team that likes a big physical S that plays a lot of back end zone

Surprisingly Mack Wilson might be taken in the back end of the 1st, but I see him somewhere in that high to mid 2nd round

Jacobs isn't the most underrated running back in the SEC, he’s the most underrated in the country! Bama having so many running backs really handicapped his stats. You put him in the position as a go to rb and I guarantee you his stats soar! Someone is going to get a dang good rb regardless the pick number!

The Jacobs hype has seemingly only gotten stronger. Analysts are moving him higher and higher.

If he don't pull a K. Butler with Chiefs production (not legal issues), he might disappoint at this rate. I hope he goes to a good team.

Most of the time, drafting a rb top-five is insanity. You build your teams on the lines and generational QB with that kind of pick.
