You should read more than just the comics.
Cops undergo extensive background checks, physical examinations, psychological examinations, being tased and maced, and the equivalent of Marine Corps basic training just for the privilege of being underpaid and verbally abused by the scum of the earth....

I lost respect for Bowden when he asked if the fans wanted him to win with thugs or lose with 'a bunch of Boy Scouts on the field'.
And don't forget Bowden's general inability to put hardware in the trophy case. He said of other NC coaches:
