AD Byrne said there would be several names floated around but to not believe it unless it came from him and the next time he spoke, he would be naming the new coach. He did the same thing with Nate Oats who many “ insiders” were not aware of . I believe him. Will prolly be a name nobody predicted

Haven't heard much talk about Deboer, but have for Lanning. Didnt washington beat Oregon 2x this year and once last year?
I'm just not sure about those 2 coaches. PAC 12 isn't the SEC!!
I guess Sarkisian and Smart turned Bama down....and maybe Kiffin too??

There’s a list and I’m convinced it could be any of them. Thats the smoke of this process.

Everyone even remotely qualified has been predicted at this point though.

I'm not sure Joey Freshwater is hirable according to some people.

Sark and Kirby are of course unlikely to leave their current jobs.

Oregon has great facilities and a ton of money but they've never won a national championship, Alabama is the best football job in the country. I think Lanning would leave, we'll see I guess.

Klatt is saying it's

Sarkisian no
Lanning. 50/50 takes it
Debour. 100% takes it

Says it will be over by tomorrow.

For what it's worth.

You think Norvell gets any interest? He took a dumpster fire at fsu and turned them around. I really like the way his defense plays too. His team had a good chance of playing for the title until the qb1 got hurt.

I don’t think Norvell will be Alabama’s head football coach.

Why would DeBour come to the south, where he's never coached or recruited when he's got a lifetime pass at UW?

I'm not buying that

While I don't think he is coming, he would leave because some people want to be great.

I think some of these names had great teams but how many of these teams like FdU and Michigan were this good because they had super seniors still there. All I’m saying is I don’t know if this year is the best year to judge coaching ability.

As I said earlier DeBoer is 104 and 12 as a head coach. He won 3 national championships at Sioux Falls in 5 years coaching there.

Great coach and I'd like the hire. The concern of course would be he doesn't have any ties to recruiting in the south. Doesnt seem to have hampered Nate Oats at all but football could be different. I don't think Deboer is known as a great recruiter.

He showed no interest in the Orange Bowl. He quit on the team just as much as the opt-outs did in that game.
