Norvell would get Byrne fired.

Rees would get Byrne the firing squad.

Have to say I'm pretty concerned with the direction of this search. Mike Norvell would not be a good hire, and some of these other names like Rees and Locksley would be disastrous. All while Lane Kiffin sits there for the taking.

Dude. Just aren't actual candidates. It's either lazy writers trying to complete a story, people getting their name in the press to help their contract or interest for another job, or a disinformation campaign to throw people off the trail or discover leaks.

With Byrne and Jimmy Sexton involved in a coaching hire, you're absolutely hear insane shite. Every. Single. Time.

I go back & forth over Norvell. I think he's a good coach, but that Orange Bowl game reminds me of sitting there in Taco Mac watching Mike Price get his arse handed to him in the Rose Bowl & just like wtf this is our guy?

I wish you guys would just read. The accusations are against a booster and assistant coach. No direct accusations on Norvell. This might make him want to leave more

I prefer our cheating to be subtle and inscrutable.

Looks OK but he has what 2 years in the soft Pac 12, where his teams give up mega points. In 28 games over 2 years his defense has given up over 30 points a game in 14 of those games. (28 in 2 of those but you get the point, over 40 and 4 or 5 games) We will never win in the SEC giving up that many points a game.

Do not fall in love with what coaches can do in the soft Pac 12.Ole Miss and LSU both would have scored 50 points a game there

Norvell and Byrne are both gone within three years if that's the hire.

'Bama was a powerhouse program in the 90's, but nothing like what it's become with Saban. The majority of coaches out there should in no way be out of reach.

Also, the powers that be ran off a great coach like Stallings, so it's fair to say things were a lot more dysfunctional behind the scenes at the time.

Fans say that it's not this hire, but the next that matters is complete BS.

You don't sit and watch what Saban has built crumble, to start over again.

We need to strike with a big hire while the wheel is still turning. We don't want to have another rebuild in 3-4 years. frick that noise.
