He has two years of eligibility left.
ETA: He has to apply for a medical year from an injury he suffered while at USC, but it is available if he wants to pursue it.

I read he has a lot of family in Hawaii. Not a bad place to finish college. With NIL he probably got a nice house on the beach and living it up.

And I can’t imagine NIL amounts to much there. This is a program that can’t afford to build a new stadium and continues to play at a high school.

He probably got a few million in NIL money before everyone realized he was a massive recruiting misevaluation. Dr. Pepper alone cut him a check for something like $500k. He certainly could have pissed it all away over the last year or so, but I suspect he's still got enough to be pretty set. Clemson isn't exactly Los Angeles when it comes to cost of living.

B Robinson drove a Lamborghini that he could trade in like every 3 months for a different one as part of one of his NIL perks. I imagine a car and house for DJ in Hawaii is just as easy.

Honestly, this is what Hawaii needs to start-up their program again after the disaster that Todd Graham unloaded. He set the program back with harsh practices, having a toxic locker room and the list goes on and on
They finished their 2022 campaign 3-10 while hiring a legend to the program - Timmy Chang (I think he set the all-time record for passing yards, but I'm not sure, someone go fact check that for me). I don't think they were given enough credit, even if they had a horrible season. They weren't as bad as people projected them to be and could have had 7 wins.
I think DJ under center will elevate this Hawaii squad to some good results again. I feel like this is a good move for both sides, DJ gets to be close to family and have a fresh start while Hawaii has a huge upgrade at QB. Interested to see how this goes for both sides
