Before spring I was thinking 10-2 type of year but after watching the spring game and how good Bryce and the recievers looked and then adding Williams and HenryT.......I now think we repeat.

Very possible. The team is ABSOLUTELY LOADED. My one question about this team is leadership. Who are the alpha's? We shall see.

Only 1 person could screw this up IMO......Pete Golding

I see this team as no different than every other team we have had over the last 8-9 years. They have the raw talent to win it all, and how successful they are is going to come down to things like leadership, playcalling, and getting a few lucky bounces just like it always does. If HT and Williams hit the ground running and become integral parts of the team then great, but I care more about who is going to step up into leadership roles after we lost the guys we lost. Lots of Robins are going to have to become Batman over the summer if they want to repeat.

Special teams always seems to be one of the biggest factors on whether or not Alabama wins it all. We'll also see how well the o-line plays after losing three starters.
All in all though, this will be a fun year.

I think we have championship possibility if the Obrien's balance offensive attack takes shape by Ole mis/A&M games. This along with the WR first unit being solidified by then.If so then I think we will be in the mix for a repeat by seasons end.
1.One of Javon Baker,Traeshon Holden or even Hall must make some of those one on one plays down field. This complimenting Bill Obrien's use of the dual TE plays which will create one on one options with the safeties being occupied by one of our TE's.
2.One of Brian Robinson, chase or sanders are somewhat effective on 3rd down on check down swing passes Najee created as a weapon keeping LB from dropping in coverage.
3.One of Cohen,JC Latham steps into the Right Tackle spot.
Note: I really think Baker will step forward this yr and Williams transfer from an experience wise view was just what the WR unit needed to compliment Metchie.I think jahleel/Latu combo allows Obrien to bring Bryce Young along with balance.

Hopefully the defense can really improve on getting off the field on 3rd downs. Giving the offense some extra possessions could prove helpful.
Finding a punter would be a plus.

I think we need to turn down the heat on Golding a bit after the end of last season. Yes the Ole Miss and Florida games were infuriating, but that shite just seems to happen these days in college football.
But then they took care of business in the playoffs, including neutralizing an Ohio State offense which gave Clemson fits.
And the defense will have a lot of experience back this year. Not saying Golding cant fail or he is above criticism, but let’s not freak out at the first sign of a struggle this upcoming season.

Nick Saban told you all you needed to know about Pete by retaining him for another year.

I'm not convinced that Henry Too'too'o will be able to dislodge Jaylen Moody from the Mike spot. Everyone seems to be penciling HT in as the starter, but he's only gonna have fall camp to learn the defense / calls in any sort of live situation.
This reminds me of last year, when a lot of folks were saying Bryce would supplant Mac. I realize HT has two years of college experience vs. 0 for Bryce at this time last year, but I still think the comparison is valid.
On the other hand, I think it's a lot more likely that HT could supplant Moody at some point throughout the year as he becomes more comfortable. Until that time, though, I think Moody is the starter and HT will come in situationally.

I'd agree with you if he wasn't coming from a program where the defense was being run by a couple of guys who learned it from Saban. There will be some differences, but he's already got the basics down. It'll still be more of a battle than people think, but that'll be because HT is a little overrated and Moody might be a little underrated rather than anything to do with the learning curve.

I think that Harris will be the Mike.

I was impressed with Moody when he came in for Harris when Harris was injured in the Arkansas game. Granted it was against a bad Arkansas team but I thought that Moody had terrific speed and pursuit ability when playing. It will be quite a competition when Henry T arrives.

I'm optimistic here....I saw our defense improve significantly as the year progressed. It was a much better defense from the one that showed up for Ole Miss than the one that played Ohio State. Florida was a bit of an outlier due Trask and the mismatches UF had on our DB's. Don't think that is simply down to Golding.

I could see C. Harris on the D being one.

When it comes to Nick Saban teams it’s always about intangibles, leadership, ability to handle distractions, complacency, emotional maturity. Alabama has the best talent and skill. I’m not worried about coaching because we have the best where it counts. So it comes down to, how do you get the guys from last year’s team to do a reset? Have the same desire to be the best? Work as hard to achieve it? Put team before personal goals? That is not any easy task, especially when other teams are hungry and want it too.

We were so far and away the best team in CFB last year, even after losing All-Americans Dickerson and Waddle, that we can take a big step back and still win the National Championship. I think our path is improving upon a defense that was borderline elite the second half of the year.
