Don’t know if he knew what he was talking about but one of these supposed insiders on Ryan Fowler’s show on radio said Goulding would be back. Too good of a recruiter but Bob would likely leave. If he’s headed to NFL there’s no rush and likely won’t know until late in year or January

Golding could be demoted to a position coach...long snappers maybe...and keep him around for recruiting. But I seriously doubt Golding is some living room recruiting magician. Most any halfway competent person could recruit to Alabama during this era. That's no reason to keep his drunk arse around. If he's retained for some ungodly reason, I default back to my position that he's Nick Saban's illegitimate love child.

Feel free to downvote Pete and Pete's mom.

I'm right there with you. But I cut him slack along the way. In 2018 he inherited play calling from Tosh, and in 2019, Shane Lee was our starting LB because he had no one. In 2020, we won the NC so that masked a lot of deficiencies but everyone started to wonder if the defensive problems were a trend.

By 2021, I was ready for him to go. But he sort of pulled me back in as the defense played really well down the stretch.

And 2022..there is no excuse. None. While I will say the overall talent didn't seem to be as good as we thought, there was still no excuse for our defense to perform the way it did. Pre-season, everyone was saying that this could be Saban's best defense ever.

A lot of y'all still talking shite about Shane Lee but Shane Lee is statistically having a better overall season than our Henry T. Henry T., wasn't an upgrade. In my opinion Moody has been the best ILB we have.

Shane Lee 2022 stats: 69 tackles, 46 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2 interceptions

Henry T. 2022 stats: 89 total tackles, 43 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, 0 interceptions

You have to take into consideration with Shane Lee is that every ILB gets better once they are no longer coached by Pete Golding. He's a horrible defensive coordinator, but he's an even worse position coach.

Moody started strong but he got absolutely bullied by LSU. That whole position group has been baby arse soft for years.

I was ready to shoot you down. Googled it and goddamn, you are right. Suppose I'm suffering from the Mandela effect here.
