You’re right, that’s a bad showing.
But when the defense holds UT to 0 points in the first half, hands the offense turnovers (that they get nothing from), you can’t blame the defense.
That had everything to do with dropped passes and Tennessee's QB missing wide open targets more so than it had anything to do with our defense stepping up.
Some of you guys who are buying that fool's gold performance on Saturday are gonna be big mad when LSU torches this defense.

We *know* the defense isn’t great. But when the opposing offense gifts you a turnover, you have to capitalize. Milroe couldn’t get it done.

That’s what shocks me the most; what happened to him?
Not sure, but his confidence has to be shaken after the last two games. Saturday, he looked like a deer in the headlights, especially in the second half. Tennessee has a good D and they pressured him a decent bit (3 sacks, 26 pressures according to PFF)…but even when he had time to throw the ball, he was missing wide open receivers, and missing them badly. And the crowd noise definitely got to him; that doesn’t bode well for the LSU game in Death Valley…

Yeah, worried about that. Just about every team we’ve played has had multiple plays where their WRs got behind our secondary; hell, USF got behind us 4 or 5 times but we were fortunate their QB couldn’t pass. That won’t be the case with Nussmeier at LSU and hope we spend the bye week figuring that out…

We are better than before Saban.
We are as good as we will be until the new system has players that will optimize it.
We will continue at this level until another Saban is hired (never).
Those of us old enough to remember…will.
It is what is is.

Milroe should start Saturday, but the first time he throws a ball into the band while Hollywood is standing in the corner of the end zone wide open, he needs to go sit on the bench by himself like we’ve seen him do way too much lately.

If we don’t pressure Nuss early and often, it will be very ugly. He doesn’t handle pressure very well. Rushing three guys is not the answer.

I agree. Something that has not been brought up is Ty hasn't really had a chance (playing time) in this new system. Everyone keeps referring back to last year.

There are many different quarterbacks now. But when have we seen him be accurate? I’ve been saying it from the get-go. He hasn’t progressed from last year to this year in any form.”
“His biggest negative is, he doesn’t use his feet enough,” McCarron said. “He needs to be a one, two read guy, go. He doesn’t step up in the pocket.”
McCarron added that he hasn’t seen Milroe go “north” in the pocket much.
“He goes back, tries to stiff arm guys and end up going to his right,” McCarron said. “It’s easy to play. D-line, it’s easy to play. They understand your tendencies. It shows. The more games you play, teams start preparing for that. They coach their d-line to do that. It’s easier to play. I think you’ve seen that this year.”
After nearly two years of being called crazy and a fake Alabama fan and all sorts of things, it's relieving to hear someone with an actual platform finally say it.

There it is. Black and white. We need a change and I hope it’s soon.

Think you'd have heard if Ty was at least splitting reps with Milroe? If he's not getting any time with the 1s, it's hard to believe they'll put him in during a game, barring an injury to Milroe or a meltdown worse than what we saw against Tenn.

Tempted to put post this on Bama sub reddit. Place is filled with Milroe fan boys still. Wonder how they would react to a former Bama great at QB with years of NFL experience saying Milroe is not good enough
This right here. Teams figured him out in this new offensive system. He starts to play worse and his confidence takes a hit that he is not able to recover from.

They'd be doing him a disservice by throwing him in there with no significant reps with the first team and with a presumably scoring deficit.
But I fear you're right

It was hilarious when he got the boot from Roll Bama Roll.

Surprised he let the Washington fan come over and say Milroe is not a good fit

Ty needs reps and live reps. Else we are sending him to the slaughter. Man I hope there is a plan. I’m digging into this tomorrow.

If what Boz is saying is actually true and starts to get aired out a bit, I could absolutely see that dude siding with the players creating problems.

I'm pretty sure I know who he is in real life. He was at UA at the same time I was if it's the guy I'm thinking of and he definitely had a bit of the self-righteous streak in him. Seems to have worsened over time.

McCarron ain't scared to say shite. Dude chewed out BJones in the last seconds of a blowout title victory for not snapping the ball on time so dealing with some PC media types for saying the tru I'm sure he doesn't GAF. Now, GMac on the other hand... not so much.
It's wild how far removed we are from that kind of culture now.
