I came clean last week. I'll never doubt the GOAT again, my god Milroe balled tonight!

LSU's run defense is up there with USC's statistically, it's really bad. We were beating them to the edge quite a bit but I don't know if we run a gameplan anywhere like this against Georgia and potential playoff contenders with stronger sideline to sideline skills

That being said, I like that we're pulling some of the Notre Dame style plays like using Law out of the backfield and rolling out some. We haven't been able to run read options super well so it gives us more capabilities and a good change of pace to use his legs. Also Jam getting playing time was huge

The line blocked super well today, hoping that's something that stays strong or at least somewhat consistent.

My biggest issue with Milroe has been him trying to be a pure pocket passer. Tonight he finally was a true dual threat QB. Plenty of areas still to develop, but if he brings that added dimension and runs with authority when it's there like tonight, we have a shot to make some noise.

Did you take into account the defenses the two qbs faced?

ive been critical of milroe, even saying he cant win a championship. i have slowed my roll on him. theres no doubt he's making really good strides forward.

however, heres the point i want to make before some of you try to hype milroe for the heisman. had the 2 qb's been swapped last night. daniels would've mortally destroyed that lsu defense to the tune of around 700 yards and bunches of passing td's. for me thas a given. but do you really think milroe would've done to the bama defense what daniels actually done to it? i dont.

i'm not saying i dont like milroe quite the contrary, i love his enthusiasm and battle to the end attitude. but theres still a whole lot of growing up as a major college qb to be done.

That's the point I was making. Milroe can be productive, but he isn't a great qb at this point. The good thing is Bama is solid-great in all other phases of the game.

I was questioning whether Milroe out-dueled Daniels or did Milroe and crew out play LSU.

Another week, another bump

This time we got to witness a clutch Milroe play that rivaled Bryce’s 4th Q comeback and 4 OT win vs AU

Love it

1. Intermediate Throws: Check

2. Took off when he had running lanes: Mostly Check

3. No Turnovers: Check

4. Maneuvering within the pocket: Big Check

Dude has addressed pretty much every deficiency in his play from the early season

Though I've never been a hater, I just want him to

1 - Learn when gets to the LOS, run like a bat out of Hell.

2 - Throw the ball away more.

I was never a Milroe hater, but I will call a spade a spade. He was terrible early. He's improved a lot. He still isn't very good at a lot of things you expect a starting QB to be able to do. But, he offsets that enough with big plays that we can go further than I thought we would with him this year.

Rivaled? Milroe's throw surpasses any single play Bryce ever made.

This.

Milroe was making terrrrrible reads and was not ready at the beginning of the year.

It’s amazing to see his progression. His leadership and hard work is top notch. It always reminded me a bit of Jalen Hurts.

LegionField posted this over on the SEC board. This is a good article to read, when you get the time...

ESPN.com

But this quote stood out to me:

quote:

"I was told I would never be the starting quarterback at Alabama," he said. "I've been told I was not smart enough to play the position. I've been told everything. Even when I was named the starter at the beginning of the season, I don't think a lot of people thought I would keep it, and if I did, that we were going to have a bad season. So, yes, I've faced a lot of obstacles. The main thing is the right people believed in me, here at Alabama and within my family, and I remained grounded in believing in who I am.

"That takes you a long way."

Agreed, it's a fantastic article that really makes you appreciate how hard these guys are working to improve themselves as football players and human beings.

I doubted the guy in the offseason based on what I saw from him but I wanted him to become the guy. He looks like he's built like TO and runs like Jerry Jeudy...I knew if he could figure it out that he'd be amazing.

After the Texas game I overreacted and wanted him benched but then I tried to be non biased and watched his Texas tape minus the two ints. It was pretty solid. Then Nick announced Buchner was starting so I didn't know what to think.

Ever since that South Florida game I've been on the Milroe band wagon. I knew he was our guy. He's had up and down moments but I think fans are way too critical of him still to this moment. I mean I talk shite in game threads when he does something bad but it's just the fan in me coming out. I still love him as our QB.

I'd never blame anyone for being racist over a football opinion but I do think there are built in stereotypes based on skin color. It's only natural. Some of it's warranted and it goes both ways. Some ppl defend him only because of his skin color as well.

All I know is if Ty Simpson had the same skill set and performances as Milroe then guys like Shaft would feel completely different about him. Take that however you want.

Holy shite…. I mean do you have any shame at all? So you gonna trash Milroe when he fricks up like all qb’s do, but now when he’s got Bama playing for a championship you gonna lick his arse.

It’s fricking comical how some ppl on here trash players left and right with they’re bullshite post cause they don’t live up to expectations and then the next breath start praising them and saying… I all ways knew he was going to be great. What a fricking joke
