I guarantee you he didn't write it. He was sent a draft before it was released I'm sure.
Correct, but none of these type public apologies are not run through a university PR department first.
So, no big deal to me.
The biggest deal will be how Coach handles it

He will sentence him to community service, and then KD will go pick up trash in his place

Not near enough. He has to feel it. I'm thinking take a pinkie finger. That'll show him.

Confirmed he's not going to be suspended.
DeBoer thinks he's "got his player's back" but all he's done is shown weakness. No one questions Moore's love of Alabama or that he's a good guy. But actions have to have consequences...or they used to.
I'll bet Coach Bryant didn't want to suspend Namath...but he did. And Namath loves the guy to this day.
Anyway...whatever. New era.

No he hasn't. He just understands this generation. Trust me I teach them. They don't respond to punishment or consequences like even a few years ago. They respond to consequences with anger and bitterness or apathy and quitting.

I will never allow my grandkids to misbehave. Idc what generation we live in. I didn't allow my kids to not face the consequences, I'm sure not letting my grandkids misbehave.
No matter what generation, what society we live in people need rules, regulations, and consequences. People need positive and negative influences. If you stop giving people negative punishment for their actions you'll have a lawless society and team in this case.

As a 2-Time Captain + being a 5th year player...... he should have known better not to let people get in his head.

Good, as a start. I assume by the verbiage that the coaching staff does not intend to do or require anything else. There should have been at least a half to full game suspension to send a sorely needed message to this team. I don’t claim to be on the same level as Coach Deboer, but I see a widespread lack of discipline on this team. Heavily, heavily weighted toward defensive players.

Kalen should punish #13 by not allowing him to wear all his gold chains during the game this Saturday.
That will get his attention for sure,

Probably, I've never seen an Alabama player punk out the DC and head coach, waving them to go back to the sidelines. They just turned around and did what he said, and then he doesn't even get suspended for it. No player on that team will have any respect for this guy.

Put him in a cell with Ruggs for a week.
Am I doing this right?
Did y'all "lose respect" for Stallings when he didn't kick David Palmer off the team?
Get over yourselves.

This sets zero example.
Expect more undisciplined play from everyone

No, but Stallings did suspend him if you recall.

I don’t know about a suspension.
Saban handled these things internally. There were many instances where he played people who maybe would have been suspended elsewhere.
But who knows, that was different (those were off field issues) - Saban didn’t have players act like an arse on game day.

Good enough for me. Malachi has been nothing but a great team player with a great attitude as long as he’s been at Bama to my knowledge. If this is something that has consistently happened in the past then I’d say it’s a problem and he needs to be suspended, but it isn’t. I think most everyone on this board has had moments like that where we lose our composure. A lot of us probably did Saturday. Difference is, we don’t have millions watching us. I’d imagine Deboer will handle this internally and we’ll move forward

For those of you advocating for Malachi Moore's suspension, please remember that Rolando McClain pushed an official in anger after a ticky-tack penalty gave Virginia Tech a crucial first down in our 2009 match up in Atlanta. He, too, was a captain on that team and Saban didn't suspend him for the game against Florida International the following week.
