One of if not the best at several positions

CB - Kool Aid
OLB - Turner/Braswell/Keely?
DT - Oatis
OT - Latham
OG - Booker

really deep at RB with Jase, Williams and Miller plus the two fresh coming in

9-3?

Will Reichard misses a kick in Austin and Terrion Arnold doesn't break up a pass at the goal line and we've got 4 losses this year.

We're losing our 3 best players, and no coaching changes have been made yet. Forgive me if I want to see some actual improvement in an area like...not finishing dead last in the league in penalties before I'm ready to start talking about a natty run again. Because as easy as we could've been 12-0 we could've been 8-4. If you're going to acknowledge the two last second losses you need to acknowledge the two last second wins. We were a team that could beat anyone in the country, sure. But we were extremely undisciplined and went through multiple long spells of offensive and defensive ineptitude over the course of the year. Y'all just expect us to magically be better. I need to see that shite cleaned up.

You aren't wrong. The last two seasons we have played a ton of tight games against the kind of teams that we used to beat by 3+ TDs. Florida, Aggy, LSU, Arkansas, and Auburn last year. Texas, Aggy, UTk, LSU, and OM this year. Last year we went 4-1 in those games. This year we went 3-2. Next year maybe we go 2-3 if we play 5 games that come down to the final possession again. That's the risk you run by putting yourself in that position so many times.

JMO Bama has to find some interior DL that whip the guy infront of them and make plays (tackles or sacks). You can't depend on the DC to outsmart everybody you play. Same can be said for the other side of the ball (OL).

Maybe Nick saw Kirby and how he gets involved with his players during the games instead of standing over there with his arms crossed. Show some F excitement and it might carry over to the troops.

It is going to be interesting to see how Nick handles this spring QB race for #1. I am sure he doesn't want Milroe to leave after spring drills thus Milroe might be named 1 or Nick names both guys as 1. Hopefully both stay for fall.

Really want to see how the young receivers progress between now and the season opener. Burton and Brooks return. Getting a true deep threat like Benson may be the difference. Losing Jamo and Metchie set the offense back. Whoever the new QB is will have help.

There’s more magic in an OC’s wand because the offense chooses the point of attack and can more easily emphasize key players and hide poor ones. Sharp OC’s have taken a few good skill players and not much else and given people fits. And you don’t necessarily have to be good at multiple things on offense. You can play your favored style of ball. Can’t throw the ball worth a shite? That’s okay if you can mash people up front.

On defense, you have to have studs everywhere, period, because you can’t hide personnel and you don’t dictate the style of play. You have to be able to play any style on any area of the field. And if you’re deficient somewhere, people are going to hammer you there over and over again. And the worst place to be bad is the DL because it’s the easiest to exploit. If your secondary sucks, the offense still has to be able to pitch and catch. But if your front sucks, they can just put a hat on a hat and go to work on your arse.

My point is there’s less a DC can do to make chicken salad out of chicken shite. You have to have guys capable of straight up winning individual matchups.

Keeping Golding would contradict that.

I'm interested to see how the secondary works out. Losing Branch sucks. He was easily the best DB we had outside of Kool Aid. Hellams and Battle were good box safeties but could be exploited in coverage. See the Tennessee game. How will the DBs reload ? I actually feel okay about the defensive line. James Smith should contribute immediately if he's as advertised. Not sure but it looks like they're trying to add a transfer who is visiting this weekend.

Don’t forget that Ole Miss had the ball at our 14 with 2:23 and we are only up 6. If Kiffin doesn’t get cute, we could have lost that game as well.

Will Reichard makes a kick in Knoxsville and Bama doesn't go for 2 against LSU and we've got 0 losses this year

I'm not worried about the home games, Bama will pull those out.

At A&M and at Auburn will be the toughest games of the year and decide of Bama wins the West.

I believe I acknowledged that. You acting like it’s comical for us to lose 3 games when we played about 5 this year that came right down to the wire is pretty peak gump though.

Why do we struggle with Auburn teams that have very little talent? They give us fits regardless.

We struggle in games at Auburn and have for 30 years.

We annihilate Auburn in Tuscaloosa and have since Saban arrived.

It is what it is.

You predicting 3 losses for the regular season when it has only happened twice during Saban's time at Bama is peak bold though

Why do we struggle with Auburn teams

1) We are their reason for existing so we are always their superbowl.
2) We play auburn when there is usually more on the line.
3) The scheduleing of the game plays into auburn benefit. It gives them a huge national game to look forward to and they usually have nothing to lose so auburn can play more loose.
4) When playing there, their cult 'under-dog' fan base creates a hard environment to play in and literally go crazy.
5) For Bama its like fighting a girl. If we win, we are expected to. And if we lose, we gain little. We we generally have everything to lose.

I personally don't understand the way we schedule this game that plays completely into auburn favor. I wish we would move the game to earlier in the year so auburn would have noting to look forward to....My dream is to see a fully rotating SEC schedule and see years auburn didn't even get a chance to play Bama. It would crush them.
