We've performed so well in those games that major teams are not interested in doing it and getting their butts handed to them. If we are going to have our non-conference schedule improve, it's going to have to be through the home-and-home.

Do we think it would be easier to schedule a quality P5 team that everyone can get excited about if its home and home? I am thinking a lot of teams just aren't that eager to sign up to play Bama. That may be fully homer, but these games are getting done: Aggie, UGA, LSU, Barn all have some quality games. Why don't we?

We have Miami in 21. That's a pretty quality game. Louisville next year would have been interesting if their QB didn't leave early.
No explanation for the Duke game in 20.

I would much rather play The Citadel then Western Carolina or UT Chattanooga.

I agree, we should at least mix our FCS creampuffs up, but better yet, no FCS creampuffs period.

I was really looking forward to seeing Jackson in action against our defense.

Jesus Arkansas. Pathetic.
And how are we four spots better than UK? Looks like the same out of conference schedule to me.

If ever there were a year to play 2 OOC P5 games, it would be next year. The trouble is there’s know way of knowing how many SEC teams are going to be down 2-3 years down the road when scheduling OOC games. About half of our conference opponents are in rebuilding mode.

If we win the SEC we are in the playoffs providing we only lose one game. Another 11-1 season not winning the SEC may do us in with this schedule unless LSU and Tennessee show out.

While I don't like this matchup, I wonder how much of that was up to Bama? The kick-off classics are exclusively ACC and SEC so I wonder if the folk setting it up wanted to be more inclusive and decided it was Duke's turn...

Was very disappointed we backed out if the home and home with Michigan State though...although with the scandal currently blowing up there, maybe that's a good thing now...

I am more concerned about TAMU, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

All three new coaches know that beating Bama would put them in a great spot with boosters, recruits and the administration.

In the SEC, we'll always have a couple of tough battles. AU, LSU and MSU are the most probable to give us a fight. But TAMU, OM, Mizzou, etc could all give us a scare on any given day. As someone said, complacency will be our biggest opponent. If we play the way we should, we will be 12-0 heading to ATL for a rematch with Kirby and the pups.

I like the schedue setup. Look where we're opening the season...with all the hoopla surrounding UCF and their "co-National Championship", Nick is going to twist and turn this into off season motivation. They're going to believe the nation is still disrespecting them and will ride this thing until 2019.

Not exclusively. Alabama played West Virginia from the Big 12 in 2014. There have also been SEC-Mountain West matchups twice. And there will be a SEC-Pac12 matchup next year.

Yep, it varies. It's ACC-SEC more than it isn't, but it's not exclusive.

2008 - Alabama vs Clemson (SEC/ACC)
2009 - Alabama vs Virginia Tech (SEC/ACC)
2010 - LSU vs North Carolina (SEC/ACC)
2011 - Georgia vs Boise State (SEC/MWC)
2012 - Tennessee vs NC State (SEC/ACC)
2012 - Auburn vs Clemson (SEC/ACC)
2013 - Alabama vs Virginia Tech (SEC/ACC)
2014 - Ole Miss vs Boise State (SEC/MWC)
2014 - Alabama vs West Virginia (SEC/B12)
2015 - Auburn vs Louisville (SEC/ACC)
2016 - Georgia vs North Carolina (SEC/ACC)
2017 - Tennessee vs Georgia Tech (SEC/ACC)
2017 - Alabama vs Florida State (SEC/ACC)
2018 - Auburn vs Washington (SEC/P12)
2019 - Alabama vs Duke (SEC/ACC)
2020 - Florida State vs West Virginia (ACC/B12)
2020 - Georgia vs Virginia (SEC/ACC)
2021 - Alabama vs Miami (SEC/ACC)
2021 - Ole Miss vs Louisville (SEC/ACC)

SEC : 13 games (11-2)
ACC : 10 games (1-9)
MWC : 2 games (1-1)
B12 : 1 game (0-1)

Yes! If they are going to get their teeth kicked in, they at least want a home gate for it. Also, any chance of upsetting Bama comes at home, not in Tuscaloosa or on a neutral field. Losses there are as rare as hens teeth. The neutral site thing is dying a slow, painful death as far as usefulness for Alabama and Saban goes. I wish we would accept that and move on to home and home series.
