With all due respect, please tell me how Grant has anything to do with a fuxking preseason training injury. I mean, I'm looking at that statement, and it is just fricking pathetic.

UK fans should have blamed Cal last year for Noel tearing his knee up. If only his substitutions had been better timed...

Levi is, by far, our best on ball defender and literally the only guy on the entire roster who can hit a mid range jumper. He's not what I would call a great player, but he contributes a lot to this team.

Lol, a guy tweeks his knee in practice and you find a way to blame it on Grant?

You're probably in the same crowd that want's Gottfried back.

Levi is about the only guy on the team who can create his own shot other than Releford driving to the basket. I don't view him as a good mid-range shooter though. He can get himself a clear 6 footer but they rarely seem to drop. If he could get that going, then he would be a real weapon on offense.

Completely agree. That was basically my point. He also seems to have a good head on his shoulders and plays good team ball. Would like for him to be more aggressive.

I really think you're thinking of Cooper because Levi makes an impact in about every game. Cooper is the player who disappears at times.

Grant can't keep a team together. We never are at full strengh which is bad for a guy who has had 5 years to put together a team. He can't get guys to buy in. So when injuries happen which are part of the game it is exacerbated by the fact he runs off a kid or two every year. He has chewed up so much talent at this job its crazy and he has nothing to show for it.

What does that have to do with blaming Grant for Levi's injury?

Its another injury, another excuse to give Grant another year. We have paid him for nothing and he is constantly in rebuild mode. If he doesn't run off half his team every year then one injury wouldn't bother us. He has ran off half of the guys he has signed within two years of them being on campus. So there is a disconnect somewhere, kids don't want to play for him.

This isn't fricking football. You get 13 guys on a roster, and chances are just 8 or 9 of them are ready/able to contribute. If one of the best 2 or 3 of them gets hurt, there isn't a team in the country that wouldn't feel it. Not even Duke and Kentucky can just plug and play if a starter goes down.

Well that's kind of a bizarre take on what seems like a pretty straight forward situation but different strokes I guess.

true but no one else has dealt with this exact problem and kept their job for 5 years. Grant inherited some talent from Gottfried yet consistently is losing two or three key contributors every off season and not because they are completing their eligibility. Green, Pollard, Lacey, Durant, Carter, Mitchell, Hankerson, Gueye, Pickett, Knox all left on bad terms with eligibility left. You can expect some attrition in the first few years but he constantly has attrition problems into his 5th year. We just ignore it and he has the good fortune of being the Bball coach while we are likely winning 3 of 4 in football.

Both incorrect and pointless to mention. If you expect that kind of production from our basketball team, I don't know what to tell you...

ETA: I guess it's not "incorrect", but it's 3 straight or 4 of 5 if they win this year.

Whoever he is talking about, he's wrong. Cooper has won us games as well.

There is SUCH a glorious long list I could make of players Gottfried recruited who left the program, this is nothing new.

This is so true.

Also, Grant has close to a full roster but only plays 7-ish in any game, several scholly players, not freshmen, had less than 30 min on the floor all of last year!

Have you even followed Gottfried since he went to NCST? He is at an actual basketball school and is squandering more talent then Grant is.

The only two meaningful players Gottfried left Grant was JayMichael and Mitchell, both who had obvious attitude problems. Do you think Saban would put up with kids with the kind-of attitudes those two had?

I think Lacey was over hyped out of highschool. We'll see how he "develops" under Gottfried

We had 9 scholarship players last year. We played all of those 9 players regularly. I love it when people who don't pay any attention to the program try and whine about it. I understand Grant has his flaws, but y'all are just pulling crap out of your asses.
