I personally still remember a few times Marlon gave up those "over the top" dressed in Crimson. Titans did their homework.

I am surprised at Marlon sticking in the NFL. I thought he was just average at Bama.

Lol what? “Average?” What is your bar for being a good CB?

Compared to some other DBs.It’s just my opinion. Did not think he was one of our better DBs in the last several years. Surprised he was drafted so high. Granted GMs liked him for a reason.

I just don’t think it’s really fair to him to judge him against other great CB’s Alabama has had throughout the years and then call him average. Look at what he actually did as a player. He was anything but average his last year at Bama

If we are discussing Malon's covering technique, we've had better and by a lot. What he did great at Bama is exactly what he does great in Baltimore. He's a physical dude for a cornerback. He will come up in a hurry and dot your eye. Great tackling technique. He has never shown that lockdown corner and as everyone was reminded again, you can get behind him on most second moves. Teams at times in Tuscaloosa actually picked on Marlon on the deep ball. He was always biting on the first move. Still say he would make a great safety. When he left as a RS Sophomore he left a lot to be worked on.

Levi Wallace was definitely an upgrade in pass coverage the next season. Levi was that lockdown corner.

He was 'average' enough to be first team all-American as a redshirt sophomore and picked 16th overall in the NFL draft the following spring.

Yeah, these comments are crazy. Marlon was fantastic for us and he is currently one of the better CBs in the league right now.

I mean, y'all realize that the Titans passed for 90 yards last night right? 3 came from Henry and half of the rest came on one play. Acting like Marlon had anything to do with them losing is fricking stupid. The Ravens offense put up like 500 yards and didn't score a TD until garbage time.

Half of the Titan's passing yardage came on one play (ovah #44). He would be better served to shut his pie hole and just play then again that would cover 95% of the NFL players.

Just replying to the last post.

ALL PRO is the best at your position. Meaning, if you are 2nd team all pro, their are at best 3 CBs ahead better than you.

PRO BOWL they have 6-9 CBs for a ball game.

Yes, DBs get burned from time to time in the NFL (even the best).

He gave up that big play but I don’t remember him giving anything else up. He recovered well

Dude was literally an all pro this year. Was by far the best db against Clemson when we beat them in 2015. Had a bit of a down year in 2016 but I think it’s easy to understand dude was probably looking ahead to the nfl a bit

You post that picture, but under the modern transfer rules, DH probably wouldn’t have stuck around. He was really close to transferring as it was.
He was probably the greatest Alabama running back of all time, and he was only given the lion’s share for 1 season. A total waste if we’re being honest.

The kick 6 would’ve never been had the coaches started DH instead of Yeldon with his bum knee

That’s a national championship.

The following season had he started with Jake Coker, with Lane Kiffin calling the shots, that’s another natty right there.

In 2016, had we retained Lane Kiffin for the NCG, that’s a natty right there.

2018, we allow Tua to fully heal after the initial injury, and let Jalen take over in the meantime - that’s probably another natty.

The mistake was not feeding Henry as our featured attack against Ohio State.

The first mistake was not stopping Cardale Jones running on 3rd down to extend drives, and then the second mistake was sustaining injuries such that we had 3 starters missing from the defense in the 4th quarter - 2 Lbs and a Safety. And guess who missed their tackles on that long running play, 85 yards or something, in the 4th? Those three backups.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Lotta recency bias happening right now. Henry had 1 decent year and 1 incredible year. But he spent the first half of his Bama career getting tackled by anything more than a stern glance, and was ridiculed because of it on this and other forums. Only in the second half of his career did he learn to stay on his feet.

He is definitely the best pass-blocking RB we've ever had under Saban. Dude stoned Lbs trying to get to the QB.

2014 DH: 177 touches, 1123 yards, 13 TDs

That's at least a good year.

Besides, it became glaringly obvious in 2015 that DH is at his very best when you give him 20+ touches in a game.

The two times in 2014 that he got 20 or more touches: 21 for 140 yards and TD against UF, and 20 for 141 and 2 TDs against Missouri. Those were 2 top 15 defenses in 2014.

Recency bias has little to do with it IMO.
