Yes what he did was wrong but a player pissed if he lost a game he knows they should not is not excusable but adults sitting on their couch acting even worse is excusable baffles me.

What's baffling is that you have neither the intelligence nor the maturity to have grasped that this was an utterly stupid comparison before you typed it.

I do not think he is weak, mild mannered, professional, "players coach" YES.

Now, the problem lies with the players thinking there is a substitute teacher for the day and either consciously or not are talking the talk (which i loathe) but not walking the walk.

Womack needs to go when the season is over, does not make any adjustments all season long, NONE. He is overmatched .

Malachi Moore sure as hell thinks he's weak. No fear or respect for DeBoer whatsoever.

Deboer encourages/expects celebration by the players for good plays. The ugly abck side face of encouraging emotional reactions is that you also get emotional reactions to bad things. Malachi's negative emotional outburst is a extention of encouraging emotional out bursts on positive events.

Expecting a player to release emotion on one event but control emotional release on the other does not work.

Honestly that's kind of the attitude this whole generation has for authority figures. What are you gonna do to inspire that fear/respect? Bench them? Cut them? Hello transfer portal where they can not only go to another team but get paid to do so. Until other coaches refuse to take transfers who show their arse what's the solution?

Bench them. Demand respect, it's not that difficult. Guys transfer all the time.

Moore has no eligibility left. He's gone after this season. He's only creating questions about his attitude for the draft process.

Perfect situation for CKD to send a message to the entire team. If you're scared you're going to run off a star player, you've already lost. If it's a player worth having, he will respect your demand for excellence.

I am not going to overreact to one game, despite several glaring issues. My question to you, and I am aware that you have football knowledge that far surpasses mine, is (1) does the current staff know how to right the ship (because you are 100% right about the 2 sided emotional aspect) and (2) are they willing to do it?

If there is not a public statement /apology and a Suspension of some sort then I will have some serious concerns for this team

Can’t show up players and coaches especially being one of the leaders on the team

I'm sorry... I didn't know that was the question. I was just remarking how absolutely insane, I mean mentally retarded to put DeBoar in the same class with two legends. But carry on

I'd rather have players that are passionate and lose control in a game they should be winning than players that DGAF. But that's just me.

I don't like getting outclassed, but it happens. Learn from it and move on.

Where to place blame for this loss is difficult. The new NIL paradigm makes it harder to judge. My gut feeling is it was the players. We will just have to watching going forward to see what happens. The defense is a huge concern. I was expecting adjustments at half time to counter the option offense. I was surprised to see nothing changed. As a side note during the Saban era I blamed coaching for two losses (the overtime 9 to 6 to LSU and the 2013 Auburn game). I blamed two losses on quarterback play (the 2008 Florida/SEC and the 2010 Auburn game. All other losses were a team effort.

Every player out there is passionate, no player on any team likes to lose. How many lost their composure, disobeyed their coaching staff, and threw a tantrum on the field? Just one

Bingo. While the head coach watched and didn’t do anything about it.

Offering perspective. A great coach isn't always going to be a yeller type.

Are the adults like you that post that are soft as shite, cry like little babies needing a tit, and lack the maturity to handle reactions like an adult. But keep posting because your sad life apparently is ruined because a team did not win for you.

We also saw this crap the last few years under Saban and probably contributed to him retiring.

This is what the transfer portal has done to college football. Keep the NIL but get rid of the portal. That way a coach has some kind of control. These kids know, at the first sign of adversity and the discipline that may follow that they can find another school next year.
