I’ll take the natty tonight playing the same game we’ve used to get this far. But we’re playing with fire and for no reason.

That's exactly how I feel. And, just as importantly, it's beginning to hurt offensive recruiting. But, I do think Lord Saban knows this, and is planning to rectify it in the offseason, IF not later tonight.

Of the 4 drops in the Clemson game, 3 (Ridley’s potential long TD, Foster’s pass that was thrown behind and at his feet, and Bo’s short pass being rocketed to him) were more Hurt’s fault than the receiver’s.

Yes, all those highly rated WR's are to blame for the consistent poor passing game over the past two years. It would be way too easy to blame the QB who struggles in every aspect of the offense except running.

Yeah and we have had a terrible amount of drops all year, yep blame Jalen first and not these supposed NFL draft picks who talk about how good they are all day. It’s fricking pathetic.

So you think Ridley’s dropped pass is on him???
He had his DB beat by a few yards for a 60 yd TD but Hurts under threw so bad he had to stop and make a leaping catch with the DB who was allowed to catch up.

Foster was wide open on his throw yet Hurts underthrew him forcing him to immediately change direction. Hurts also throw the ball at his feet. Once again he was WIDE open and Hurts still couldn’t get a good pass off.

The point is, Hurts can’t even hit wide open receivers with consistency.

Bo should’ve caught his pass but it was just a short dump off and yet he couldn’t even throw that properly.

Some of you hate to put any blame on him whatsoever.

It’s both their faults and that’s what any real coach or player will tell you. But the fans just bitch, moan and complain all day about the QB and have 0 accountability for the receiver.

Oh and start trash threads on the day of the natty. It’s so incredibly pathetic.

It’s pathetic that some posters like you defend him at all costs. It’s pains you guys to put any blame on Hurts whatsoever.

But it’s not their fault. Hurts should be able to hit open receivers.

Is it really too much to ask that he hits wide open receivers??? I’m not saying he should be make NFL throws but he’s missing open targets and failing to wide open receivers quite often over the last two years.

Jay Barker completed just 4 of 13 passes for 18 yards, with 2 interceptions Jan 2, 1993 Sugar Bowl against Miami to win the National Championship in New Orleans.
I wonder what the score would have been with Jalen at QB?

I see someone beat me to it.

Jalen is our QB this year. Hopefully he has a good game. The outcome will not rest solely on his passing abilities.

Some of you guys need to just wait until next spring and into the fall before you call for a QB change. It may happen during the game but it will mean 1 of two things, and one of them is bad.

Ridley had opportunity to catch the ball and bring it in. Boz is right, we've seen lot of WRs dropping the ball on throws from Hurts. If all passes were caught, People wouldn't be whining about him. Foster, Sims, Smith, Jeudy dropped passes this year.

Think you also need to pay attention to the length of field Jalen had in this years Clemson game, which I seem to remember was relatively short, so he is never going to have to big numbers cause we were always starting close to half way.

That could be a legit claim, if our offense put up more than 17 points.

Hurts as lost two games as a starter. In both loses, the RB where not used like they should have been.

Woah, easy there Boz. Trash thread? I’m usually in your corner.

I went looking for a way to excuse Jalen’s numbers and play with a look at efficiency. Instead, what I found was more evidence he’s a liability in big games. It’s so blatantly evident it’s embarrassing. He’s got a top 20 ypa average but there’s 3 distinct levels to his numbers. He absolutely killed it against shite teams and put up huge ypa. He was very average against average teams and sucks arse against teams that can play. And it’s much more distinct and precipitous than other QBs.

I wanna feel good about this game. I’d like to see the guys win a natty. But every time I think about how UGA ain’t gonna beat us playing Bama football, I think about how we handcuff ourselves with a lost OC trying to call plays for a QB that can’t throw and I worry about how will we score enough to win this thing. I doubt 17 gets it done this week.

Hurts hasn't won or lost any more games than any other player on the team has.

No offense intended, but I keep seeing references to Jay Barker and the 1993 Sugar Bowl. That game may as well have been a hundred years ago. College football has changed dramatically since then. It's hard enough to win big games with the crappy offense we have now, but at least we're some better than that these days.

Those stats came against a top5 defense.

Would you rather the 18-36 for 124 yards and 2 interceptions Clemson's QB had? Those are what terrible stats look like. Same guy who light up Miami for like 38 pts or whatever.

As for your "not misleading stat" - It's misleading because you are overstating it's importance. The stat you are ignoring and the reason we beat Clemson the way they did was 3rd down conversions. Which in turn kept us in good field position the majority of the night and kept Clemson out of it. Yet you pretend like all those good field position starts were some kind of charity.

That is where we were lacking against Auburn, and that is where we improved against Clemson.

Not every possession has to end in a score, as the saying goes - any possession that ends in a kick is a good one.

Odd, you guys bitch about Jalen non-stop and yet we keep winning.

Has the game changed dramatically since last week as well?
