There is no perfect fit for his system. It's all around arse. He does not conform to any strength of the player he has. Literally makes every organization he's apart of worse. And people keep hiring him. It's insane frankly

feel like the only debate in 2022 was which coordinator was worse. My position was that Golding was worse but now I'm thinking that BOB had to have been toxic.
It wasn't. It was initial unpopular to criticize Bill O'Brien no differently than it was to criticize Pete Golding.
Now after years people understood and joined the parade but initially it wasn't accepted by the general masses here

Bryce was injured and BoB threw the ball 50 something times. Saban should have sent his arse packing that night!
Yeah that guy was the worst. Couldn't even scheme plays for easy yards. Just drop Bryce back and hope Bryce can play backyard ball.
Then the idiot tells Milroe he should quit being a QB.
I mean I get we as fans didn't believe in him but a-hole your job isn't to break him down it's to teach him and build him up.
That a-hole stole millons from the university and got to use Pete Golding as a shield on his way out

You are delusional, my man.
Bama nation didn't like the HIRE of Golding on DAY 1. The big question was,... "who ?!?" Nobody had any idea who he was, and nobody could figure out why Nick Saban- the man that picks up the phone and gets who he wants would hire an absolute nobody out of fricking UTEP.
We all know the whiteboard wizard rumors but nobody in the fanbase was happy with the hire from day 1. It was during a time that Saban walked on water, and to that point nobody could question him about anything. If he hired the guy he must have been the best guy for the job, but as we all know now it was kinda the beginning of the Saban losing his unquestionable edge.
Meanwhile, say what you want about BoB, but he was a freaking NFL general manager and head coach, and had ties to the most influential people in the NFL. In college he was regarded as the man responsible for bringing Penn State back from the dead.
Comparing BoB to Peter tumbleweed Goldchode from nowhere UTEP is nonsensical.
Even though he was awful BoB had the chops to be the OC. Peter Goofnuts should have been selling peanuts in the stands, or collecting tickets at the tiltywhirl at the state carnival.

In Alabama's two losses in 2022, the offense scored 49 and 31.
You should typically win when scoring 30+ and basically never lose when scoring 49.
Bill O'Brien is a well-known prick - reinforced more today - but the offense did typically make plays when it mattered. That may have mostly been due to Young but I don't think it is entirely on Young. There were some clever things done at times that were unlikely to have been drawn up in the dirt by Young. The problem were the dry spells with a defense that could ill-afford the offense not applying maximum pressure.
Golding was undoubtedly the worst coordinator of the pair but BOB was probably an absolutely toxic influence in the locker room.

Agreed. They were both hot garbage, and all I can do in retrospect is think maybe Saban was thinking I've gotta find a couple guys that will stay longer than a year because his coaches were being poached so fast.
It really was the one thing that was able to bring him down was all the teams going after his coaches strategically. Jeremy Pruitt being the best example. He was nowhere near ready to be a HC, but to hurt Bama Tenn lured him away.
It worked.
If Pruitt stays and becomes Sabans Brent Venables then there really is no telling the death and destruction the two of them would have imposed on the SEC. (and instead of working in a High School somewhere Jeremy would be in his final years of tutelage under Saban and preparing to be the next HC of the Crimson Tide) What a disaster.
Pruitt wasn't so much a defensive savant as he was an ELITE talent evaluator. The man could flat out identify talent on film, and then he could go get them. Then what he lacked in some whiteboard quiz he made up for with aggressiveness. Third and Kirby became a thing of the past under Pruitt.
I hate Golding so much, but if we dont lose Pruitt Goldpuffs never happens so you'd have to say the worst thing that has ever happened to Bama during the Saban era was losing Pruitt to Tenn, and sadly Pruitt wasn't ready, and ratface accomplished exactly what he was trying to do. Bring Bama down a notch.
Nobody has ever taken on so many enemies from every direction, and been stabbed in the back as many times as Nick Saban and still climbed to the top. There will never be another Nick Saban. GOAT

Probably cost a couple for championships.

Come on, man. They just made a stupid hire because they're stupid. Nobody is throwing around millions of dollars to "hurt Bama" and themselves too when, for all they know, Bama could just go hire a great replacement.

Are you familiar with Fulmer and his history ?
I guarantee you there were several better candidates, but the main thing if it were down to a handful of guys they were thinking to hire, and were split on who to take hurting Bama would be the deciding factor especially for Fulmer. No doubt about it

I mean college backup QB's make more than nfl starting QB's now, and Jimbo is being paid a billion dollars to kick rocks somewhere. We didn't understand how much money was behind the scenes when all this went down.
You dont think a rival school that hates your guts would pay a few million to hurt your program and possibly gain the secret formula even if that coach isn't ready ?

Don't forget the turd brought his idiot buddy Doug Marrone as oline coach with him and the guy lasted one year and ruined the offensive line.

Fulmer hates Alabama with a burning passion. We should know this after what happened 22 years ago with the Memphis deal. Heck, Logan Young was murdered and the local cops covered it up. Tennessee hiring an Alabama coordinator to hurt our program is child’s play to them.

Bryce Young covered a multitude of BOB sin.

Yes, yes, a school hired a COORDINATOR away from their rival because they thought it would hurt said rival. They didn't hire the person they thought would be best for their program, because sucking arse is less important than inconveniencing another team.
Sports fans are as delusional as political fans.

To give Bob credit for Bama's offensive output is silly. Brice basically took care of things on his own. We underachieved as a team.
The other thing is Bryce is a confident, grounded guy. He probably overcame alot of that slobs negativity.
We've seen the video of him telling Bob to f himself.
And we've seen him humiliate Mac on on the sideline.
I'll take Reese any day of the week over Bob.
