Well then he will have single handed LT destroyed what he has worked so hard to build. Jalen is good enough to get Bama pastvthe regular season but he is not good enough against elite defenses. Don’t know why he would hamstring his offense by playing someone who can only read a third of the field. He would also damage the future of the program by allowing the best QB in the roster to transfer and likely his talented younger brother as well.

I can see Jalen taking the first snap against UL. But he won’t be the starter much longer IMO. If he is, that’s the first major mistake Saban has made at Bama. You can’t sit a talent like Tua.

Yeah, I'm thinking the answers the latter.

Tua will start in the triple option with Najee and Damien behind him.

It wouldn’t at all surprise me if Saban went with Jalen to start the first game. He wants Jalen around for depth. He will start Tua after Jalen struggles with Louisville. After this year Jalen transfers.

Anyone who thinks Jalen will be the starter is a total fricking moron. End of story.

However, I fully understand why so many people have a lack of faith in Saban to choose the right guy. Last year was a bit traumatic in that regard

I don't see it. Barring injury, there really isn't a logical reason to start Jalen over Tua. It almost destroyed the locker room last season.

No way.

All those Soph WRs may not say it,but they're in Tua's camp.Probably, the Freshman WRs will also be with Tua.

Coach Saban will play Tua.

How can you not.

Look what very little Game experience produced in 1 half in the NC.Ponder what Tua with 10 Games under his belt would be.

Tua's ceiling is so high I can't see it.

I love Jalen.Coach Saban was right that Bama would not have been in the NC Game without Jalen.

A talent like Tua doesn't come along every year.

Nope. He has made a couple already including keeping Hurts as starter past the midway point last year causing us to get beat down by our instate rival.

Why? What justification is there for it? Let's be honest, without Ridley out there it's very likely that Hurts will regress even further as a passer. He's a good kid, but I'm not sure he's ever going to be an elite college QB. He doesn't make decisions quickly enough. That prevents him from running the read option at a high level or being a productive passer. He's really, really good for designed runs and that's about it.

Most of us know this is a response thread brought about by folks complaining of no topic discussion. Plus you probably enjoy trolling the board with an issue that has been beat to fricking death. I like you as a poster but shame on you for starting this abortion of a thread. Salsa should wack it after I RA it after I hit submit.

The real question is who transfers a couple weeks into the season or does one transfer before our first game?

Unlike the OP, I'm not trolling but I think Hurts really will start the first game because for whatever reason Saban may feel he deserves it. I think there will be pre determined series for each qb, and I think by the 3rd game Tua will be the firm starting qb for the rest of the year.

If Saban settles on Hurts, Tua will be gone and starting somewhere else next season, some of the receivers will probably split too, perhaps N. Harris, and recruiting will suffer. I don't think that's going to happen. Saban really did make the wrong decision last year, imo, not going to Tua by the Auburn game, but I don't think he'll make the wrong decision this time around.

When Tua is named starting qb, I think Jalen will stick around the rest of the year. Frankly, I don't care if he transfers today, and I wish he would because I think it would be best for the team.

Saban made a mistake with sticking with #2 last year. He is lucky as hell that #13 bailed him out in the NC game.
