Saban probably shouldn't have said all that (even though it was factual), but Ronnie being disrespectful is all bad.
frick that.

Ronnie did EXACTLY what he should have done. You know goddamn well he and Saban talked about the decision.

Once it was made, Saban needs to shut the frick up about it when it comes to talking about his kids to the media.

And that isn't even my main gripe about it..

There is ZERO benefit to doing what Saban did. A kid committed to UA and is now in position to be a pretty well known and badass NFL safety and also possibly an interesting and marketable guy.

You don't go and shite on them.

What a shitty look and senseless move by Saban.

i watched the press conference. i was thinking it had more to do with this team and their stance on the issue. with saban just using that situation as a picture for the current players. i dont have any idea what jr's or rs soph's may be looking at going pro. but i'm guessing it would be a safe bet to say, saban has heard rumblings amungst his team.

His total contract is 3 million. There are no guarantees he will get another contract.

Injuries happen, he could drop in play, etc..

It's a gamble to leave early.

And now those players are thinking, "frick this rich arse fake prick. Dude is getting bags while we're out here not getting shite and putting our careers on the line."

Talk to players about their decisions. Name drop tf out of them tonthe entire team in a big team meeting about the pros and cons of going pro. They all know each other. Plenty of them are friends.

But don't go single a guy out to the media while being a bitch and saying, "well I don't want to name names."

Saban made a mistake here. It's ok for y'all to admit it.

He plays for Jacksonville.

The safety in Chicago played his senior year.

Saban didn't use Ronnie's name, I think Ronnie may be an idiot.

What does that have to do with Saban calling out young men about their own decisions that they make?

Saban has the right to say what he wants and Ronnie has the right to respond.

I was responding to the guy that said "Ronnie may be an idiot". It may or may not have anything to do with "Saban calling out young men"

I really don't see the problem. Saban without a doubt encouraged Ronnie to come back because his draft grade was probably about where he ended up going. If he worked on his coverage skills and declares in a weaker safety class he would have started his career with another $15M+ in his bank account. Instead, Jacksonville gets him for 4 years at right around veteran minimum and he has no means of earning a living if football doesn't work out. But I guess since he's "following his dream" of not going to class and making a fraction of what his labor is actually worth we owe him a duty to not discuss it.

No.

No the frick I'm not.

I'm saying Saban shouldn't be calling out players to the media while saying he isn't calling anyone out while talking about massive decisions that they've already talked about privately.

Can you even read?

Dear Christ..

I'm not saying Harrison made the right decision or that Saban is wrong.

Why are you so butthurt over this?

It's your opinion that this was a mistake by Saban. Your opinion means just as much as the other opinions on this board. Not a damn thing. You're getting all warped because you can't bully folks into sharing your opinion
