I’ll admit doubting this team

Yes, I among so many doubted this team and Coach Saban. I thought that Coach Saban had made a mistake in either not getting a better QB from the portal or from starting the wrong quarterback. I will eat my Crowe with some barbecue sauce and vinegar, thank you. This team is an extremely close team, and I can see how they closed ranks after the Texas and USF games. They believe in themselves.

The offensive line, so confused and disjointed earlier in the year, is getting better and better, and are very physical, which is the style of ball Coach wanted us to get back to. The receivers are running crisper routes. Jase and Roydell are not going to beat everyone in a foot race, but they run with power, urgency, and block well. I don’t think I have ever seen an Alabama QB get better game after game like I have Jalen. He seems like a great kid, and it’s impossible not to be happy for him and pull for him. Seems to be a great representative of the University of Alabama.

I see a team that plays very hard, is coachable to a high degree, and that most of all, believes in Coach Saban and his message. If one wants to look at the closeness of this team, just look at the after game mutual interviews with Jalen and Coach Saban. I truly believe that over a season, this has been Coach Saban’s best coaching job, and I for one am proud to be along for the ride!

I mean based on the results on the field how could you not doubt this team. The eye test and the stats point out they were not that good early. However, some of that was a bit of a front loaded schedule.

That being said, the people questioning whether the best QB was playing after the south Florida game are still insane. I truly don't get that one. You could tell by fall practice that Milroe while limited was still far ahead of the other guys.

Saban played the guys with the best chance to win this year. I honestly believe Milroe was suspended for the South Florida game

My guy, nothing to worry about. I don't even mind when people 'air-it-out' in forums like this. I doubt anyone else sees it and let's face it... It wasn't looking good. I'd rather this forum accommodate dissenters along with sunshine pumpers. I do appreciate when folks take ownership and responsibility for what they write, say and do. Perhaps, it's because I have such a difficult time with two daughters, who accept none.

PS - Besides, It's beyond a first world problem to have. I was born on a base in Twenty Nine Palms California to a father from Tennessee. After his time in the service, we landed in Alabama. He has passed his love and respect for the program on to me. It could be worse, I could have been an Auburn fan.

I as well as everyone else doubted this group after Texas and South Florida but ever since the Ole Miss game I've been behind Milroe. I could tell this team found an identity in that 2nd half.

Now we have a chance to win the National Championship and bring back a stacked offense for the 2024 season and a lot of key pieces returning on defense. Hopefully we finish and don't lose a lot to the portal.

Alabama football is in a great spot right now even though our HC is 72 years old.

I never have doubted Saban.

I doubted this team, no question. And I wasn't even going to be upset about this season, early on. I had already TOTALLY conceded we wouldn't get to a great post-season.

This is a mona lisa of Saban's prowess.

We all did based on what we were seeing. My biggest gripe all year was OL but they got it fixed. Robert’s was a game changer at the position and since he has started playing I even see a difference in Provtors play as well. Proctor and Robert’s almost killed that GA DL in the sec cg. Haven’t seen blocking like that n the OL since 2020

I also doubted this team early on. But the coaches changed the offense and both the offence and defense gradually developed into the team that won the SEC. So very glad to have been wrong.

I definitely doubted Milroe. While im still not going to completely let him off the hook due to all the bad sacks, he has much improved and his Big Play ability to get "chunks yards" with both his big arm and fast straight line speed make him a very dangerous weapon. The play calling also improved to his benefit, matching his abilities.

If/when he improves on his mental clock to get rid of the ball or commit to the run faster and take less sacks he will become one of the All-time OGs of college football. His physicality and speed and big arm are already such a huge benefit for him. Just needs the play calling and mental clock to fine tune it. Im extremely excited to see what he can do in the playoffs, and next year.

The O-line i was always bullish on and figured would come together.

Everyone doubted this team in September and if they say they didn’t they are lying. Hell, Saban probably had his own doubts walking wet through the tunnel at South Florida.

I did not see an SEC title, nor a CFP spot, in this team's future on the morning of September 17.

Doubting them made sense in September. I thought they may end up 8-4 or 7-5. They looked *terrible* against USF. Terrible!

I didn’t think this team would win the SEC and make a playoff run. I had them going 10-2 or 9-3. I knew they had the talent, but inexperience in key positions(quarterback, left tackle, middle linebacker, safety) and 2 new coordinators were probably the reasons why they looked so bad early. I’d say it’s the best coaching job Saban has done here at Bama since 2008. It’s been a fun season

If everyone was being honest, we all had doubt enter our hearts at some point during the past 2 seasons. This team exceeded my wildest fever dream expectations. I couldn’t be more proud of the players or Coach Saban.

Well...

It's funny

We're a few changes from being one of the best

I was wrong about moving Proctor to LG though

EDIT: If you read through those threads not everyone lost hope, couple of guys agreed and new we had something.
