We may have to make Sark head coach in waiting. Herman might be our next OC if Sark leaves.

Ehhhh nah, I'm not a big fan of that.

If they get him, they get him. Cristobal, Swinney, and Kiffin are still out there. Maybe even Pruitt.

Sark is more attractive than Kiffin based off of personality. Coaching ability between the two is about a wash. Dabo ain't going to Austin. Cristobal is a good possibility. Pruitt?! Man stop. After Tennessee Pruitt will be a high profile DC again.

Why? Who else is out there? Maybe an NFL guy. But, I have to think of college guys available Sark would be at the top of the list.

GTFO with that shite.

The clown can't get his team motivated enough to avoid an arse raping by fricking Kentucky?

The only way Jeremy Pruitt should be allowed in the head coach's office in Tuscaloosa is to bring Saban/Dabo/Sark/Mario a cup of coffee.

Texas fans seem to think that Urban Meyer is their next coach

They may, but it'll only be after they've already struck out on at least half a dozen candidates and their coaching search has become a circus.

They hope that. Desperately. I don't think it's realistic though. They'll try I'm sure, but every day Urban stays retired it's less and less likely that he ever comes back this time. He looked absolutely miserable towards the end at Ohio State. If he tells them no I bet they are going to offer an insane amount of money to someone like Riley, Dabo, or Kirby. An amount so high that only Texas could possibly afford it and their current employers couldn't come close to matching. Like double what aTm gave Jimbo and tack on another $5 million for good measure. They can't frick up another hire.

Coach in waiting is not as sexy as it was a 10 years ago. I think that clusterf*ck has passed by and nobody really does it any more.

As far as the next coach at Texas.....I really don't care who it is. Problem with Texas (much like Auburn)....the power brokers and money men, feel as though they should have a say into how the program is ran because of the amount of money they pour into the program. Texas should be to the point of having wallowed in misery for so long, much like Alabama from Stallings to the Saban era, that they are willing give the keys to the kingdom to someone, and let them run it the way they want.

Just like when Mal hired Saban. Saban took the keys and told everyone else to GTFO. Unless Texas does this, they will continue to be OU's assboy.

Pruitt is trying to rebuild a team that has been systematically broken down over the last dozen or so years. Kiffin was on his way to bringing them back, but he's the only decent coach they've had in that span.

I'm not saying I want Pruitt right now (except as DC) but I said "maybe" because IF he stays at UT for a couple more years and gets them back in contention, I think he definitely deserves a look when the time comes. That's a big if, though.

After 3 seasons do his players even believe? It's not just about wins. Sam Pittman has given an equally downtrodden hope to the razorbacks after 5 games. Major setbacks like getting hammered at home by Kentucky is kinda telling. Pruitt having to take over D-line duties in the middle of a tough season is just plain baffling. His handling of the QB position defies logic. He should have one of the best OLs in the country, they don't play that way. High school running backs should be standing in line to play in Pruitt's system. His backs look very mid-tier in talent. The same problems that affected Tennessee in their first year are still reoccurring. That's a red flag.

3 of UTk's final 4 games are against Auburn, aTm, and Florida. It's not their usual softer than a baby's arse November where they get to make their fans forget about the 3-4 start with 4 or 5 wins over Mizzou, USCjr, Kentucky, Vandy, and some rent-a-win team en route to the Music City or Belk Bowl and offseason declarations of the corner being turned. If they lose to Arkansas they're looking at 3-7/4-6 and if that happens he's squarely on the hot seat with a mid-season firing next year a distinct possibility if they get arse blasted by us, UGA, and Florida.

Three fricking years. Three. Count 'em. Three recruiting classes now. Saban had just as bad or worse to deal with, and it only took him a year to get rid of the cancers. Our program was in just as bad shape, if not worse.

The performance of his team against Kentucky, the quit in them, was absolutely inexcusable in year 3, and every bit of that is on Pruitt.

If they lose to Arkansas, the Pruitt train is jumping the track. I don't think Tennessee fans could stand the humiliation of being bested by these upstarts. It would also make the rest of a very tough schedule, you just mentioned, look and feel like an oncoming avalanche.

How may Head Coaches in Waiting have gone on to actually become head coach?

No to Kiffin. He is a one-trick-pony who got his team up to play 'Bama and then can't beat anyone else. He has traditionally been an over grown frat boy and is just not good head coach material. At least not at 'Bama. I suspect that Auburn will try to hire him in the off-season.

Texas may well consider Sark. Sark is 10x the coach that Kiffin is. Honestly, I don't know how we will be able to keep Sark without solid promises that he is our next head coach. He has be awesome while he has been with us.

Not sure what we have that we can promise. Coach Saban looks and sounds like he is dug in and then some. I think coach is about to go all Bill Synder on the SEC.
