Sorry to get political. Carry on.

Nope, circling back now he has the free time, he's now my go-to write in vote.

I’ve written Saban in for about 10 different elections. The guy would’ve been a dynamic success in any field, not just coaching.

Steele retiring didn't help but it's a good time for Steele, Bellichek, and Saban to call it a day.

He purchased that damn house in Florida at the beginning of the season and I just wrote it off.

Maybe there are health issues with her and he just doesn't care to explain it to the public

He has nothing to prove. He said he would retire before he gets to the point that he doesn’t enjoy it.

If Saban just up and left us with Milroe, I'm going to be pissed in a couple of months. Surely there's more to this- none of it makes sense otherwise

Simple...He is F tired of today's youth.

So tired that he blew up the lives of so many people in the AD office and I am not talking about players.

He admitted he thought of them all but said F it anyway.

So you’d rather someone be sick? What a terrible post.

Totally Embarrassing. We can never make fun of any other program and their hiring process.

Read the names of those with real info and laugh.

What’s he supposed to do? Just coach until he dies so they can all have a job?

This is the nature of the business

Because those 14-16 hour days hit a little differently at 72 than what they did 10-15 years ago.
While CNS and Ms Terry seem to be in very good health, coaches’ mom isn’t doing as well. She lives in an assisted living facility in B’ham and this would free up more time for him to spend with her.

No. Imbecile.

I just think that Milroe called that last play, and I think maybe Saban lost control of the locker room. At least the kind of control that he was used to and left. He was interviewing WR coaches earlier in the same day he announced his retirement.

Jesus fricking christ.

You really want to know why? Do this then:

Try to find a couple of brain cells to rub together, then listen to why he said he retired.

Saban probably realized he wanted to go out before he had truly lost it. Sounds like he knew he was getting close.

Why did Saban retire?

This time last year Saban was fighting to hire the best possible OC & DC. In large part, because of his age and how long he would be at Alabama before he retired types of questions... he hired Rees and Steele.

Steele did a pretty damn good job then retired a few days ago. Rees did not turn out to be a particularly good hire but I suspect he had a two year (or so) commitment to Rees. Saban does not break such commitments with people he hires.

Late Tuesday night he is said to have been talking to potential DC candidates. Some have even said he was talking to some on Wednesday morning. Then about 2:00 pm he said I am done...time to retire.

Maybe the effort to get a good DC candidate colapsed based on his age and his not being ableto commmit that he would be ther for at least 2 or 3 more years? If there are road blocks to being able to get an acceptable staff pulled together, the road block needs to be removed. The road block was CNS and he removed it.

Did it all happen that way? I have no idea. But, it does fit!
