You were triggered that some folks crossed a line but instead of responding to the guilty party on Twitter you came here on your high horse accusing us. You have made an arse of yourself and you owe this board an apology. You are not the person to lecture anyone about posting decorum or the need to take breaks, etc.
If you don't feel like a thread's subject matter applies to you then ignore it. There are lots of threads that don't apply to me and I don't even bother to open them up. But, your liking or disliking threads is subjective and capricious.
Here is the deal. I read on THIS forum several posters discussing fans of Alabama, including, it was implied, themselves, bashing a 17 year old kid because the kid didn't play up to their standard and our basketball team lost. Coming here and griping may be one thing. But, going to a kid's social media to say garbage is what qualifies as "crossing the line." I posted what I did because 1) The particular posters needed to be addressed. Many of them showed up in the thread squealing like stuck pigs, deflecting on to all sorts of other things. 2) Others who drop by this forum who have done the same thing needed to be addressed.
Have you ever played a sport at a higher level, especially one that is heavy on a fine motor movements like basketball or baseball? Ever had a kid play at a higher level? I have. I can tell you, no one cares more about their performance than they do. No one wants to do well more than they do. But, sometimes they fail. Sometimes they even make dumb mistakes. But it's not a moral failure to miss a shot, or a field goal or throw a dirt ball or strike out. It happens!
A number of posters need to take a while off to get a little perspective on things. If you hold a grudge against an athlete because he didn't play well in a game, you need to back up and reassess your priorities and your life.

I’m a follower of Christ also, so I must confederate with the Bible believing crowd as I am one. But therein lies the issue - if we say we believe the Bible, and “love the Lord”, then we don’t hypocritically bash others for bashing others.
To summarize, he isn’t a perfect representation of a Bible thumper, but a terrible one.

Natasha, get off the board plz. Your son is a college athlete and will be criticized. He didn’t deserve it, but it’s a part of the game you need to get used to.

What, brother, was Christ's response to the Pharisees in Matthew 23:27? Was it, "I won't bash you guys, but you really should be less judgy of others"? Heck read the whole 23rd chapter and give me your feedback whether Christ Himself shows us “judginess” or “get along with the crowd”.
How about John the Baptist's response in Matthew 3:7 when the Pharisees and Sadducees were coming to his baptism? Was he nice and sweet and make everyone feel good about themselves, or did he have some harsh and judgmental words? How about the apostle Paul's response to the Judaizers over circumcision in Galatians 5:12? Did that fit in to the Christian, non "Bible thumping" response for you or not?
By the way, are you not bashing me for bashing them, for bashing Kira? What is this saying about your personal Christian walk?
I find it rather astounding that you, as a professed follower of Christ, would prefer to side with those who would find more problems with speaking out against adults who attack a 17-year-old college kid for not shooting a ball well enough one game, than the principle, which would state that saying demeaning things to a person of any age just because they didn't play a game well is morally indefensible.
