That’s basically it. It really doesn’t matter who wins the ACC they be plugged in at 11 and the group of 5 at 12. As you said, if the teams who are supposed to win, do so. We are in.
Best case just win SEC
Worst case, the above
If any of ND or OU lose they are toast seeing as no conference championship appearance.

It appears that it might based on what the Chairman just said. Instead of saying a team won’t be penalized for losing a conference championship game, he said it’s another data point they’d use to evaluate a team:
I would have no issue with this, but it is not what they said or did last year. The committee continues to move the goal posts. Just be consistent.

The only solution is to bring back the formula and end committee frickery. Direct human interface on this is too ripe for horse trading.

You're right, they should be. However, it's never going to happen based on how the Committee is structured. Because terms are staggered, you're always getting a rotation of at least a few new people on the Committee every year who are going to bring their own lines of thinking to how teams should be ranked.
As such, the goal posts will be moved every year unless clear rules are established (e.g., teams playing in conference championship games that are in the top 12 can only be reshuffled within the top 12 but cannot be dropped out of the top 12).
If Bama wins this week and next week, but loses in the SEC CG and gets left out of the CFP, I can understand people arguing for the SEC CG to be canceled going forward, but there's so much money tied into playing that game that I can't imagine it'll be seriously considered (and that's putting aside all the legal issues with trying to get out of the contracts associated with the SEC CG).

This is what I mean as to be consistent. Set rules in place to avoid this controversy every year. They create a precedence one year and do not follow it the next. Last year they said the CCG would not hurt a team if they lost. So that should have been a new rule in place for this year.
I understand they are human with their own built-in bias but with clear rules/procedures in place the rankings will continue to be bias.
Also would help to eliminate all the other rankings leading up to it. They have no value outside of creating TV ratings but add bias to the committee as a base to start from.

They are changing within the year now.

Talking about rushing yards.....yeah it's been a struggle, BUT Bama has still been good enough to beat ranked opponents. So even bringing it up needs to be looked at it from the other side. We dominated ou other than three plays. It's just bias.

There is a long shot scenario where UGA can go to the SECCG unless i am mistaken ahead of us vs A&M even if we beat Auburn...
If I am right....UGA goes and wins the SECCG, We are sitting there at 10-2 with a win over the SEC Conference champ what will those committee fricks do then?

If they keep us out at that point we should go independent. The fix is in.

There is no scenario I’ve ran that puts UGA in the SECCG over us, and I’ve ran a ton of them.
Edit: if we beat Auburn

There is one, but I can’t remember where I read it at. I think it had to do with bama Georgia and ole miss having the same sec record. Something about if those 3 tied, it would do away with bamas head to head over Georgia.

What is the argument for Oregon being #7? They have 0 wins against teams currently in the top 25. They have a double digit loss to Indiana at home. If they win against USC this weekend, they have 1 win over a top 15 team. If they lose, how far do they fall? What the committee is proving is they are talking out of both sides of their mouth. They are hyping up strength of schedule and saying it matters, however, when it comes down to voting, they reward teams like Oregon that have played nobody and punish teams like Alabama, who have played a murderous schedule. Go back to a formula and computers, the committee is failing the common sense test. .

...there is no "fix"... that's only for Notre Dumb. If we beat FSU none of this would be relevant, but here we are, struggling with teams that can rush the passer

No point in worrying about it. We are about to get blown out in the voodoo palace in cow town.

This guy went on ESPN and said rushing yards are a key metric they used to determine rankings.
They're gonna do whatever the hell they want.

Because SOS only matters when they want it to.
And when they have quoted SOS theyve somehow found a metric that ranks OSU as having a tougher schedule than Bama and UGA despite having one ranked win the entire season.

whats the o/u on the committee moving usc ahead of bama if they beat oregon? just a thought i keep having.
personally i never wanted a committee. i wanted to keep the bcs but with total transparency, no secret formulas.
but now that we have a so called "committee", i wish it was comprised totally of former coaches. not an ad in or media personality in sight. but thats just me.
