Well a few days ago the rumor was both would play, I’m not confident that is the case anymore.
While I think this was technically possible, this was likely a statement meant to 1) foster competition, and 2) keep Hurts in Tuscaloosa. If both players could contribute to a championship run, I'd imagine Saban would welcome it - but it's not shaping up that way IMO. After 2 weeks of fall camp, we'll know. It also wouldn't surprise me for him to name Tua the starter before Louisville prep.

Somebody needs to "worry about what you do", because you're coming off as an a-hole toward a guy that saved us from three straight losses to Ole miss and clutched up big time against an lsu team coached by a retard. Imagine losing to that dipshit.
This is also the same guy who did what he had to do against a Moo U team on it's way to humiliating us.
So stop being a big, veiny cock toward a young guy who had nothing more than one bad moment. He broke the "time and place" rule, big fricking deal dickhead, who hasn't?

I really thought it would start like year before last with Jalen and Blake. But after hearing all this today, I think Tua starts and would have to really stink it up for Jalen to play.

The two interviews posted were pretty telling i/m/o. Jalen is just fielding questions about staying at Bama and doesn't sound very convincing. Whereas Tua is all business and process and acting like he is in command.

I never thought Jalen would lose the mental coolness and confidence. He has been killing gophers at practice and doesn’t carry himself well. Receivers have been just picking the ball up off the ground and acting like they have caught it. I don’t know what else to say really. Hate it for him.
That's about like ADay. It's unfortunate.

Having read the thread first and watched Hurts' video second, I was expecting something much worse. Jalen held his tongue for months and finally "speaks out" and did it relatively well and in a measured way. I dont believe he "called out" the coaches, and any fan of Hurts should be stoked he's fighting back and got some attitude.
There's also no reason to compare Tua's and Hurts' interviews. They are different people fielding different questions, and they weren't competing for "best QB interview."
I still think Tua gives us the best chance to win hased on all the info to date, but Hurts interview is not a big deal and potentially a positive step for him, so long as he finds his way back to "we" statements in future interviews.

Were those wins because of Hurts though? I wonder if those 5-Stars at every other position contributed at all?....... hmmmmm
Hurts dominates sh1t teams with the help of our talent, and sh1ts the bed vs elite teams. He’s nothing special.

Prevatt you're realllllly missing it here, and so is anyone else who doesn't think this is MAJOR CODE RED.
This program is a tight ship. Period. No player has ever gone off the rails and pulled a media stunt like this since Saban's been here.
Jalen is a man who's lost it all, and feels bitter. He's diverged from the doctrine of this program and is going rogue. I want him to get the frick out of Tuscaloosa before this season starts. This kind of thing has the potential to sow dissent amongst the team. Get him the frick out of here, and you can bet Saban feels the same way. Saban absolutely hates this kind of attention-seeking bullshite, and Jalen knows it - he just doesn't care.

Even it were as dire as you make it sound and it's not. You don't think a personality as strong as nick saban's could handle this?
Really?

Chill out! My goodness! There's no dissent on this team! More than anything this situation proves again that the best player will play. Don't you remember how the WRs last season during the playoffs made their feelings known about how they felt about the QB play?! That was dissent! The WRs were telling the truth but it was dissent and the team still won the national championship. Chill my friend.

I think you missed what I was saying. I didn't say there was dissent. I said this kind of situation has the potential to sow dissent if it's not dealt with. And yes, I think Saban will handle this, and I think Jalen might be off this team sooner rather than later

You're right. Not even a little.
And also this guy makes the assumption the greatest coach in college football history can't manage the egos of a couple of recent children.
What was that magazine that said saban was one of the top leaders in the world? I forget, whatever it doesn't matter. What matters is the idea that a personality as strong as saban's can't handle this.
Nick saban does not want jalen hurts out and we know this because nick saban isn't stupid.

You can say that again. Saban was incredibly patient with him.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree completely.
