Alabama QB Jalen Hurts on Nick Saban saying he wasn't sure if he'd be on the roster for the season opener: "I was kind of shocked he said that. ... I told him like I'll tell you today, that I'm going to be here.”

(1) Jalen Hurts certainly didn't mince words today.

"There’s been a lot of rumors, a lot of speculation about things that have gone on this summer....

(2) ...The funny part for me is the people making decisions for me. It’s actually kind of good to see you all, I kind of feel like they’ve been hiding me from you all. There’s been a lot going on, a lot of things being said...
(3)...Everybody has something to say, everybody has an opinion. The funniest thing about it is I’ve never said a thing. I kept my mouth closed, didn’t say anything to anyone....
(4)...Regardless, people are believing the things that are being said, it’s hard to believe something when the number-one source didn’t say anything."

With this bullsh1t and his dad babbling, I’m so ready for Hurts to be gone. Please get the hell out of here

Tua has won the team and Hurts knows it.

CNS has said multiple times the QB that wins the team will be the starter.

It's major college football, not little league.

So nobody asked him in the spring how he's doing. Big frickin deal.

On one hand, my heart breaks for Jalen because he went from being the toast of Alabama Football to being kind of a cast-off. He always gave it his all and did all of the right things. Criticism of his play is justified but that’s it. I really like Jalen and I really want him to be a part of this team, to succeed, and I want him to be thankful he chose the University of Alabama. When we honor the 2017 team in 24 years, I want Jalen to be right there in the middle. It can’t be easy to deal with this situation and I’m sure he feels a little isolated.

However, thems the breaks. If you can’t perform then you open yourself up to being replaced. Jalen has been given every opportunity to keep the job. He had all of Spring Practice to himself. He said it best when he said that he put himself in this position. If he has to watch Tua take the first snap, he has nobody else to blame but himself.

I see nothing wrong with what he said. I can see where witch hunters could possibly maybe try and make something out of it though.

Yep, agree with a lot of what he said. They let this fester all summer. Everyone pretty much knows the outcome so why let the media and me and you analyze and predict the future every single day.

What was Saban or the coaching staff supposed to do in this situation? Name Tua the starter after he missed Spring Practice?

Hurts is doing exactly what Saban advised them not to. First his Dad, and now this.

I'll watch the video before I judge any of this. Need context.

I guess the perspective is like this.

Nobody cried cooper bateman, David cornwell or blake Barnett a river. He beat out all of them.

And as far as bateman and cornwell go. Well they met their obligation to the team before they transferred. I assume jalen will do the same. I just hope he doesn't bitch and complain after he leaves the way bateman did.

Anyway the concept of the career back up quarterback is all but dead. Now I get why we're collecting all these walk on's and shite.

He didn’t say anything wrong. He just said if you don’t hear it from me don’t believe it. I like it.

Tua's Comments

Tua's demeanor is entirely different than Jalen's. Jalen seems to have let outside noise affect him, and Saban hates that. I've always loved Jalen, but admittedly after his comments today and seeing how much better of an attitude Tua seemed to have in his interview I'm really disappointed with Hurts. Papa Hurts is probably in his ear.

All of what you said and he should have said the things he did today to Coach Saban rather than the media. His Dad started this conversation, the media has hyped it, and he evidently didn't ask Saban how he felt either. I feel for him and I wish Jalen the best but he didn't do himself any favors today.

I read the OP. Hadn’t seen the video. Should have stayed away from the coaches should have talked to me. I agree they should have but that didn’t need to be said to the media
